As a kid, I frequently got into fights for two reasons, one is that people liked to push my buttons, and the other is that admittedly, I enjoyed fighting sometimes.
I didn't enjoy the fighting itself, but rather the satisfaction of hitting the person who thought they could pick on me and not get one back. For instance, in gym class in elementary school while I was sitting down, a student banged the top of my head and knocked my hat off.
The student then walked away, like a coward as I got up, a look of surprise and resignation covered his face as picked him up, and threw him to the ground before launching a barrage of punches all over his head. He got into a fetal position, and I continued hitting him before kicking his stomach, pushing him over and continuing the assault for another 5 seconds before being pulled off of him.
Needless to say, that was the very last time he'd ever cross me again. I felt very satisfied with myself, although I was suspended as a result and he wasn't in trouble at all, which is par for the course, I'm sure you can relate.
In adulthood, I don't hesitate to face those directly who throw shade my way, preferring to address disagreements directly rather than avoid them.
Over the past year though, my boss has been very overbearing and annoying. He constantly asks me where shipments are, despite me telling him literally dozens of times that I don't work in shipping, I work in blueprint. Shipping status is beyond my knowledge and my job. He also constantly says jobs are missing without checking with the receiving office, accusing me of not doing my job. Recently, he tried to do it again and he tried to cut me off as he always does, but I didn't allow him and scolded him for being too much of a coward to own up to his own mistakes and blaming me, thinking I won't push back.
I then told him again that he thinks he's missing things because he never asks anyone. The result is what you think, but I'm happy with it😊
You may not like what I say but I think you have some anger issues. I personally have never backed down from a fight but I don’t start them. You are much younger then me so maybe you are unaware but…. Bosses are always assholes. It’s there job to point fingers and blame others for what they get wrong… going toe to toe with your boss isn’t a smart thing to do. Arrested for assaulting a boss will not help on future job searches. My suggestion is to use your head and don’t lose your head.
For the most part. I have learned when to walk away, though. I had a violent childhood, violent father, got into a lot of fights for the first 25 years of my life. Trying not to send any more people to the hospital or get shot because I kicked somebody's ass.
Always have. I'm not the type to start trouble but if it comes my way I try my best to avoid a problem but if the person insist then I will defend myself.
