No. People don’t typically go to prison for tax evasion when they cooperate with the government and pay their back taxes and penalties. Lying on the ATF gun purchase forms can carry a penalty of up to 10 years. It could be argued he deserves some time for that but from what I understand, few people are ever prosecuted for that particular offense. So getting a break on that isn’t unusual.
