Is it a myth that black people can't get lice?

As a former hairdresser anyone can get lice, they have no preference to blood from the scalp.
The reason why not as many black people esp women as some either braid their hair tight so the lice can't attach to strands of hair or they have short hair so their hair isn't flapping about onto someone else's head.

They used to say that when I was in school because black people put hair grease in their hair and usually white people didn't use grease in their hair.

I'm really shocked by this. I live in a racist country and no one ever said to me that black people can't get lice.
