Women are 51% of the US population yet only ** 17% ** of the active-duty military. Does "equity" only apply to benefits and not to responsibilities?

I am not sure what to say about this one. I mean I served for 22 years, and I am retired military. Let me be honest with you, all us guys would roll our eyes whenever we got a single mother in the unit. I mean I was a truck driver in those days, so there were lots of long hauls and late nights. But these single mothers, couldn't do those missions. Who was going to take care of the kids, and lots of these missions would happen on short notice or require days away from home. So, who got screwed into doing twice as many missions and twice as many miles and hours driving on those missions. The men did. I was married and when I would say that spending this much time away from home was bad for my marriage, do you think anyone sugar coated anything for me? Nope I told to suck it up and be a man. Basically, I was told to shut the fuck up and quite acting like a little girl.

Then once a female gets pregnant, she can't drive, or operate heavy equipment, or even be in a motor pool because of all the petroleum products and exhaust. So, she gets to sit at desk job somewhere, where she is literally not doing the job, she enlisted to do, and lots of those jobs she is getting to do are career progression jobs, that men need as well... but if you can't afford to pull the man off the line, because this woman is pregnant and can't fill his position on the line... then she gets that job.

That means once she is pregnant, she can't drive for 9 months, then maturity leave and sometimes convalescent leave. But the whole time the man is out there driving all her missions for her, she is going to college and earner her degree, at her nice desk job. She is literally doing 50% less of the work, getting paid just the same as you, when you are doing 150% more work, and you are not ever going to promote any faster or be compensated any differently then she is. Actually, she will promote faster, she is earning her degree, growing her family, and getting better career progression opportunities, because she is a woman that can't do her job. Literally, this is what happens.

So when you have a squad of 12 people, and 3 to 4 of them are women, and half of them are pregnant at any given time... or she joins Army on 4 year hitch, and popes out two kids in 4 years, can't be deployed or do combat time because she is pregnant... spends 2 years on medical profile, earns a four year degree while the man is out there every day driving, getting shot at, and or blown up, and you can't say anything about it without being brought up on sex harassment charges... yeah, it can really piss you off.

They even have a thing called compassionate reassignment or early out option for woman. Where if they have a kid and decide they want out of the Army they can get out. Men do not get that option when they have kids.

As much as women want equality they only want it on their terms. If I man goes into a bar with the intention of finding a woman to have sex with he may have a 5% chance of finding one, even on ladies night. if a woman goes in that same bar looking for a guy to have sex with there is a 95% chance she will not leave alone. Until something is done about this unfair situation women will never be truly equal.

The numbers are an average, and vary among services and components but the trend of women serving is rising.


As far as benefits go, gender in a volunteer force doesn’t matter. Those who serve or have served have access to the benefits. Those who don’t or haven’t don’t.

@Stacey55666 I'm already in the national guard. He can but the US has the largest best trained proffessional military in the world, most drafted wouldn't even see combat, they'd be driving trucks and doing logistics. Ex military personel would be drafted first.

Equality is about the freedom and the opportunity to choose. Without it, it would be 0% because it would be a strictly male role.
