Because that land is important to Russia ability to sustain itself if they get sanctioned off from the rest of the world. It also could do a lot to get us support as international tensions rise. As much as I hate to admit it, the war also puts a developing nation in debt to us. Once Ukraine wins, it's only a matter of time until attacking them is an act of war on all of NATO the most important member of which being America. China is trying to "partner" with Russia to go against the US. Making Russia waste a ton of their best resources by basically loaning out our old crap we were about to throw out anyway puts us in a position where at least if we win, we get a lot out of it.

But if we just did nothing then Russia would have likely gotten more help and funding from Russia, our enemies would have been more likely to team up with Russia and possibly combine militaries. Similar how we do with other powerful nations.

It's a very important war and to be honest, that's only scratching the surface.

I watched a documentary that said that most all wild fires are a because of arsonists on the left. These idiots want you to believe that if the climate warms.5 degrees, then forests catch on fire. Biden doesn't get millions of dollars of self enrichment out of Hawaii, and Hirono is too busy trying to silence her critics and abolish individual rights to actually look after her state in Washington. When last I checked, Pacific tourism lobbyists don't shower politicians with kickbacks anywhere close to the same way military contractors and pharma do.

And as a personal anecdote, Maui has the worst emergency services I have ever seen. Response times are slow, there's a very lazy work culture on the entire island (whole state really, but Maui stands out), and apparently the automated alert system was a total failure too. Diverting money and resources to this specific problem would expose severe negligence of certain people who consider themselves untouchable or otherwise too important to fail, so the sleeper in chief will mostly ignore it in between bouts of screaming incoherently at his staffers.

Beats me but if you read into history we are actually giving money to neo-nazis. Many of the millitary groups are heavy Stepan Bandera followers which had ties to the Ukrainian insurgent army in ww2. They were responsible for brutally murdering thousands of women and children. Many people think that Putin is dumb but he really isn't and America bears some responsibility for this war.
