Yeah. Probably the hardest thing to cope with is how uniformly self absorbed absolutely every single person is. You can see how they ended up there, even if they are innocent in the legal sense it's real easy to believe they weren't trying to avoid breaking the law but were just doing what they wanted with no regards for what the law is. It was like if the entire republican party was born poor, instead, and I was put into a room with them to see them desperately try to convince each other that they are alpha males. It would have been funny if I could have left whenever I wanted. And sad whether I could leave or not..

  I know it’s not the same. Although I was mostly joking, I am well aware of the conditions, prison culture and almost complete lack of rehabilitation.

  I agree. Jails are dirty, understaffed, underfunded and lack adequate medical and mental health care. On top of that, it’s hard to attract quality staff to that line of work, so you end up with employees who are not cut out for the job. It leads to the inmates running the show and a prison culture that creates more hardened criminals. Our criminal justice system isn’t making us safer and needs serious reform.
