Personally I think everything is just far more depressing than it was in the 90s. Even tho I wasn't around then. It just seems to have been a happier time. OG's need to speak up

I can only speak for myself. And the answer is YES.

Why? Primarily I think because I'm older and don't need to work anymore. I mean I could go back to work. But I make more passively than anyone would pay me. So why do it? Also I just don't think the same way I used to. I was raised with the mentality of "an honest days work for an honest days pay". Employers exploit thier workers. It's no surprise that no one wants to work anymore. Throw on top of that that so many people today live far beyond thier means which leaves them enslaved as the working poor for the rest of thier life. Not that I'm complaining. God bless them. If people weren't such voracious consumers I wouldn't be enjoying the passive income I have.

when you can get more from government benefits than at a job, it lowers any incentive to work. plus many workplaces are beginning to go woke anyways

Of course and with good reason. Inflation, bad policies and poor leadership have left most of the Western world with debt, stress, depression and poverty.

The rewards for working aren't close now to what they used to be, so yes I'd say people are probably less motivated. Hell even Hollywood is on strike now, what are the odds?
