I feel like most in west are modern but at the same time it might just be they get more attention?🫢
+1 yI'm a western man, and before, the man was the provider, the protector... but nowadays, things changed, there are the divorces, there is loneliness... so men have to think more about themselves, protect their own interests first, because nobody will do it for you.
I think there was a gender norm, like the alpha male was the norm, and you had to suscribe to it. That model doesn't really satisfy me, because I won't ever be alpha.
On the other hand, there is the feminist model. He's vulnerable and must avoid toxic masculinity, he must respect women, to the point he can be submissive in some cases...
Well, I'm not satisfied by neither of those models. For me, they're just two models sold by the upper class, and I'm not part of that class. My model mixes these two archetypes, but I would describe myself more as a male populist.
I'm not against being married and having children in itself, but the gender dynamics is too complicated nowadays. So, I'm a modern man who have traditional values.

Nice!
I'm a weird mix, I'm doing a degree but I also love to cook for my partner and bake, but not because I think I have to, just that I enjoy doing so, I also if finance allows it, would like children. So I guess I'm untraditional in the way I'm doing a degree and will have to work, but traditional in the way I enjoy some home-making activites and would not mind a family.

+1 yI'm not really in favour of tradition for the sake of tradition. If doing something traditional pleases you then that's good for you; but I don't think tradition should be forced on others. If you have a traditional family with a kid that wants to do things differently, they should be encouraged to have freedom of thought and self-expression. Individuality is important to me.

Personality wise then I live my life as I see fit for myself which is under God's word.
I don't subject myself to the standards, customs and traditions of life of this trash world.21 Reply- +1 y

+1 yI have a ''western'' background and live among an ''Eastern'' culture.
Personally, I'm kind of ... ''pre-traditional'' ?
I take much of my ''visions'' from Diogenes, and some from common sense.
But I do use a computer on a daily basis...
20 Reply 2.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Modern and with current times. Meaning if anything significant changes tomorrow, i'll likely turn from modern to futuristic.
Not as in getting chip implants and vaccinated but adapting to the times changing.

My Russian mother always criticises ‘Eastern’ cultures. If Soviet Russia lies in the West, so does Polska, towariść!
- +1 y
@HippieVeganJewslim What is Eastern for her?
- +1 y
Wearing hijāb/thawb/kuffiya, growing a big beard, sitting on the floor whilst eating, ☪️ sign, having Arabian names, foods foreign to Western cultures but common in the East, speaking Arabic, Hindustani, Malay, Farsi, Pashto, Turkish, &c. Maybe even speaking Hebrew, which is ironic, as my father is a Jew who speaks Hebrew.

My lifestyle and the way I will raise my children will not be traditional in the sense of culture. However, I still take cultural attitudes to heart.10 Reply
