I remember a time without social media and then it slowly evolving until it got to a stage where there is a whole generation of youths who can't talk to anyone unless there's a screen between them. I think if social media disappeared the newest generation born after 2000s would severely be impacted especially most women whose entire value and self worth stems from online validation.

No, I mainly use it to be be a part of some geeky/nerdy communities I wouldn't really be able to find IRL.
(Anime, manga, fanfiction, fanart, drawing in general etc.)

I was very lonely and felt very secluded when I was younger because of my interests - also because it wasn't as popular as it has become now.

however for us younger lot I think it would be hard to live without social media since we're so used to it. Unlike them, we grew up around the existence of social media so its ingrained in us
