China and Russia are not allies, they are rivals. Russia should be very concerned because Russia occupies the last greatest piece of territory occupied by European colonial powers over 100 years ago, as you know China even today still feel this humiliation and probably care more about outer manchuria than retaking Taiwan as Taiwan is still technically Chinese.

China will cooperate on a few things with Russia but ultimately sees the war in Ukraine as an opportunity especially with the sanctions to buy Russian oil/gas, Russian technology and Russian food exports at very low prices. Seeing the Russian military's performance in Ukraine they are definitely not concerned with that. China like America have an intrest in taking over Russian spheres of influence namely in Central Asia which is rich in oil/gas and mineral resources that are basically untapped and the opportunity to trade Chinese manufacturers goods as the region develops. China is trying to establish traditional Chinese spheres of influence in central asia, indochina, mongolia and Korea. They may have their eyes on Siberia. If Russia collapses it will likely be a free for all of many of the non slav states in the west looking to secede and declare independence.
