I remember hearing this on a podcast but there is a good point that was made about global warming and how 3rd world countries did not care for it as much as the west then 1st world nations. The reasoning for that was when nations have population that are living in poverty and basic necessities are not being met then the environment is not the first priority in people’s minds. Yes the environment does play a huge part in economics but that is out of the hands of everyday citizens in those countries. Capitalism as put a lot of pressure on developing nations to produce productions for developed nations and then the first world countries has the nerves to tell these same countries to play their part to protecting the planet. Environmental improvements can only occur when these underlying problems are solved

Yes which is why seeing as the US military is one of the largest polluters we need to enabling the Military Industrial Complex and end these for ever wars. Can't expect other countries to protect the environment till we protect the environment our selves.

Over the last 150~200 years since the industrial revolution we destroyed the envirnment, hunted animals to extinction, destroyed ecosystems, poured toxic chemicals into rivers, polluted the air, ...

If this doesn't stop, we will soon all die.

Yes. As no matter how much shit you own, it's no use if you cannot breathe or need to run from a wildfire or hurricane.

Yes, but in the United States nobody values the environment as much as they value money and if it comes to a choice between the two, the choice will always be money no matter what the actual damage is as a result of this choice.
