Things like housing, healthcare, food, and water are basic human rights. These should be government funded, and NOT for profit industries. Denying someone access to these things because they don’t have money is absolutely disgusting to me, and is a violation of someone’s human dignity. There seems to be this idea that if things are not set up the exact way they are right now, we will devolve into chaos. THIS is chaos. We have countless people who are working full time jobs who are one missing paycheck away from being homeless. I don’t accept that this is the best we can do as a species.

Those are NOT basic human rights, and to think otherwise is communism.

Everything you listed requires the work and property of other people, and those people need to be compensated for their work. When they aren't, what has happened every single time is that productivity and output goes WAY down, and soon people are starving to death by the millions.

You are NOT entitled to ANYTHING that requires the work of someone else, and they are not entitled to yours. Your responsibility is to EARN your own way through life, and that definitely includes your basic needs. Most people could make do with a whole lot less than they have - and in much of the world, they do - and that's exactly what actually happens anywhere that socialism in any form takes place.

Look at Venezuela. They were convinced to turn to socialism in the 90s, and they got the "experts" in socialism from all around the world and they resolved that they were going to "do it right this time" with everything they'd learned. Except it turned out exactly the way it always does - within 10 years, they went from being the wealthiest country in South America to the poorest, and their people were literally starving to death and dying from diseases that hadn't been a problem for them in decades.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. And taking other people's work without compensation is theft or slavery. Your job is to EARN what you need, and anything beyond that can be for what you WANT. But NOTHING is EVER free, and shouldn't be.

So there is a galactic scale of power over resources called Kardashev scale. Earth of that scale is.75 and if we want to get to get to the first point of Kardashev scale we need to treat the average person like we want to get to that 1.0 average.
