Do you think Danny Masterson is a victim of his times (please read the desciption carefully)?

I'm not debating his guilt he was found guilty with from what I understand was no physical evidence so whatever they had must of been pretty damming.

So accepting that he's guilty what I'm asking is do you think he's convicted and found guilty if this trial had taken place before, say the "me too" movement?

I guess what I'm just saying look at Harvey Weinstein and now Masterson. I can't help but feel that these two do not get more than a slap on the wrist 20 years. Ago.

I think that he still would have been found guilty and been convicted, but with less punishment. It’s great that judges and the justice system are slowly starting to sentence people properly who deserve it. Unfortunately it’s not happening enough though. I was shocked to hear that he was sentenced 30 years for two rapes. In my country, a couple years ago, there was a 19 year old boy who had raped 9 girls and assaulted 3 others. What punishment was he given? 1.5 years of home detention. It’s a joke. I really do hope that the punishments fit the crime in the future. 30 years seems a little extreme just for 2 rapes, when so many other men have gotten away with a lot more with less punishment, but I do hope that from now on, more rapists get punishments like that instead of a little slap on the hand. I know my opinion may be disagreed on, but as a rape victim myself, the justice system needs to be consistent instead of 30 years for that man and 1 year for this man, no jail time for this other man and home detention for the other man.

Victim? No. These are serious situations, and we are finally at a point where there is accountability to be had. Let it be known that there ARE repercussions for these crimes, because we have stood up to this nonsense and now the real victims are getting amends.

He abused his position to assault women. He's also a coward who wouldn't testify at his own trial. They could throw away the key for all I care.

I think the girls were probably willing at the time because he's a TV star and then changed their minds. I think the Scientology people are the real criminals here.

I'm not discounting that POSSIBILITY. And I do agree Scientology definitely played a role. But he was punished 20 years. After the fact. So I gotta believe the evidence against him was pretty damming.
