Well…. I hate the concept of prison, I don’t think that’s any human’s right to take another human’s freedom away as a means of punishment for misdeeds, so it never makes me happy to see anyone incarcerated. I’m not really sure what the alternative is besides kind of a Hammurabi’s Law, eye-for-an-eye system, but prisons just feel very wrong to me. Freedom is unlimited and irrevocable to any living being, as I see it. “Inalienable right”, “I hold this truth to be self-evident”, something like that, lmao.

That said, fuck Derek Chauvin with a white-hot fire-poker. I’d much rather see him fall to vigilante justice, honestly, that feels more right. This whole thing is just a shining example of why you can’t give certain humans special privileges like “right to arrest”, that’s just fugazi in natural order, it’s nothing more than humans’ attempt at artificial order, and I think I’m just kind of fundamentally opposed to anything that puts human comfort over natural processes.

In Minnesota, inmates are released from prison after serving two-thirds of the sentence and spend the remainder of their sentence on supervised release, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections. So he is likely to be released in 15 years unless his appeal changes that. That's far from "never".

I have a bachelor's in biology and I work in a Toxicology laboratory. Floyd would have died even if the cops never showed up. That trial was a show trial most of the jurors were afraid to vote not guilty out of fear that it would cause a riot. The video shows Chauvin with most of his weight on Floyd's back. If you watch the full police body cam you hear Floyd complaining about not being able to breathe from the start of the arrest. Just because he lost the court case doesn't mean that my opinion is wrong. Plenty of innocent people go to jail; that is the whole point of the Innocence Project, to get innocent people out of jail.
