Will Derek chauvin get blacked in prison?

I don't really understand how prison works because I'm a good law abiding citizen. But I reckon most of you lot have spent time behind bars so I thought I'd ask.

As I understand, it's not a good idea to drop the soap in the prison shower. It's definitely not a good idea to bend over and pick it up. Kneeling is an option but I'm not sure if it's appropriate for Derek, I know from experience that kneeling in front of guys restricts your breathing and may cause temporary gagging.

I also understand that many of those upstanding, honest black folk there might take offence at having a criminal among their midst. Others may wish to reach out and build interracial bridges with him to help in his rehabilitation.

So what's the future like for Derek?

Most state prison systems have a procedure in place where they assign housing based on a classification method. Things like age, gender, type of crime and duration of sentence are taken into consideration. Also first time offenders often are not housed with people who have been down seven times. Other things that are often considered are their behavioral history while in prison and what they did for a living. Some states have a prison farm system where some inmates are assigned to agricultural work camps if they have had farm experience in the past. Former law enforcement officers are usually kept separate from other inmates in some manner. Some of the larger states have entire units devoted entirely to ex law enforcement officers. In smaller states they just put them in a small section of prison together and still others give them the option of protective custody which can range from a general population of inmates who for one reason or other don't want to be in general population all the way to a sort of voluntary solitary confinement. Quality of accommodations can also vary greatly by jurisdiction. In any case, a high profile and controversial inmate like Chauvin will probably not be out in general population. They will probably put him a cell block with a small number of other inmates. He almost certainly will not have a Black cell mate due to the nature of his crime. It is likely that the other inmates will not even know he is in their prison some where. Such inmates aren't even fed by other inmates but rather a tray is given to a C. O. who then takes it to the inmate and the C. O. s are usually forbidden from mentioning to anyone who is in that cell block. They usually would get exercise separately and he probably will not have a regular inmate work assignment.

Seems like you've listened to every rumor there is and watched every prison movie there is an concluded things that aren't true at all. I've worked in a prison as a prison doctor and I can tell you that no prison wants any kind of violence occurring on its grounds it's bad for the prisons reputation and a create dissension and anger among the inmates. That being said, as a former law enforcement officer, Derek Chauvin will be kept in protective custody probably for his whole time in prison that means he will probably have almost no contact whatsoever with black inmates. I'm sorry if that disappoints you but that's the way it is.

Here's what will happen, he won't ever be bored... He will get tonnes of worshipping letters from idiots, you know the kind that want to marry serial killers etc. He's to high profile and many people have shown tenancies of sympathy towards him. 2 years he will be engaged to some moron who will sell stories to the tabloids. Hope he enjoys having no social contact whatsoever. He's in his cell 23 hours a day, and the hour he's out of it, its just him still, alone. Even his food will be delivered through a slot in his door with no actual contact with a guard. I somehow doubt he'll ever see gen-pop. While that will keep him safe from prison justice, it's going to be one hell of a horrible existence.

He's going to be like an internet trolls mom - alone with just himself for company. Everyone else shouting at it from various windows and doors.

As a former cop he'll be kept away from all other inmates. He'll probably get the odd shank or "prison napalmed". The real punishment will be the suicide watch and loneliness of not having anyone to talk to for days on end.

I'll never understand the wet dreams liberals have of people they don't like getting butt raped in prison. Y'all some sick motherfuckers. And no, he likely will not. When it's determined someone is at high risk of attacks, they are kept separate from the general prison population. That's just how it works, regardless of how much liberals are at home beating their meat trying to imagine this scenario taking place.

And it's not like he'd be alone in there. There are plenty of groups (Arian Brotherhood for one) who basically run the prisons (anyone who denies that is full of shit and dumb as fuck) who view anyone who kills a person of color as a "hero" so if given the opportunity, you can bet money they would be fighting to protect him even though he was a cop.

But once again, my reasoning is based on reality and not my fantasies of what happens to people I don't like.

Thanks to Mad Maxine Waters, Chauvin may get his conviction overturned on appeal.

I hope that happens just to teach Crazi Maxi to shut her mouth.

But Chauvin is an idiot.

He should go to prison for being an asshole.

I have never been in prison since I abide by the laws. I'm sure he will be kept separate from the other inmates since he probably put some of them in jail and they might retaliate against him.

Seems he'll be in solitary for his safety for profit prisons don't get paid for dead prisoners but in saying that Albert DeSalvo was kept in solitary and a prisoner still got to him but that was back in 1973

They will likely put him in solitary confinement for his protection, or put him in with people less likely to harm him while in prison.

Usually popular convicts are kept in isolation. Prisoners seem to have a hit list that makes them more repsected should they kill someone on that level.

If he's in a jail where there are a lot of people that may have issues with someone like him, a police officer, he's generally quarantined to avoid a violent confrontation.
