I think it's pathetic. They make too much money as is, and they are asking for roughtly 80 percent of the stock holder' sprofit margins.
If I was a Board Member, I'd fire every last one of them and hire people to replace them.

Strikes are good. Please remember that.
No matter if you are striking or having a strike against you - it is a good thing. First, it is only exercising your market value. It is not unfair to negotiate your worth. If the demands are outrageous other alternatives will be found. That's the basis for our economy so don't feel like anyone is being taken advantage of in a strike.
More importantly the reason that it is good is that the alternative to strikes is much worse. It might sound unreal to some of us but it wasn't long ago that strikes were made a right. Before that? Factory owners would be lynched on the streets instead. Strikes are very much a good thing.
So needless to say but I will say it anyway: I always support strikes if they are done with a respect to others. This seems fine. If anything it should be made much more extreme.
Stock holders dont put any rubber to the road. The reality is stock holders are more or less gambling addicts. They only throw money at their larger casino but dosen't contribute anything to towered society. Its the workers turning raw material into goods.
How does a stock buyer at opening of the market buying a stock and sell for a profit later that day create value?
That's called "High Volume Speculative Trading".
Congress has debated and theory crafted how to fix that problem for decades, and they can't find a rational and legal way to fix it.
Codetermination
You see the logic that fair weather gamblers called stock holders do not contribute to any company in making anything or want the best for the company long term and i mean life long visions.
So why give a single fuck about them? They want more when the times are good and bail when times are bad. Nothing stock holders do gets rubber on the road.
Worker do and who want life long passion career pass down to others through think and thin and that is expressed monetarily with apprentice and pensions with union.
I don't like unions. That's why I like codetermination. It hybridizes unions with companies. You give workers voting rights by electing their own officials not chosen by shareholders or board members to negotiate what happens with earnings every quarter at board meetings.
@love_conquers_lust it's basically a co-op as a business model. Love that too.
When dealing with out of touch, fair weather gamblers called stock holders unions are a bridge to the same result. You twist the arm left holding the bag of deficit to truly invest in the honorable way.
Unions suck though because the all for one and one for all mantra is their strength and weakness. I don't like being paid the same as weak performers. That's weak ass feminist bull shit equal pay for equal work. They don't want you to be allowed to excel. I'm saying give the workforce a larger pool of money to compete for. Take it out of the gamblers pockets who sit around and don't contribute shit. I would know, I'm fucking one of them with my retirement account. I don't give a shit what happens with it and I can't call up my account broker and advise him anyway.
@love_conquers_lust you're playing the fair weather gamblers way. But unions are in it for the long haul. I've been saying it left and right but workers are the only people who take raw material into products and put rubber to the road.
Who are the people creating something into profits? WORKERS. Who should be the leadership of life long passion career artisan.
Use yiur brain. Quarterly meetings. Instead of negotiating at the end of every contract. Worker elected representatives get to negotiate every quarter. It’s a representation problem. Doing codetermination gives workers workers the loudest voice they’ve ever had since the 60s.
@love_conquers_lust this few weeks has been the biggest boom for unions in decades. And i do think this is a great thing.
If unions was common everyday things. It wouldn't be ground breaking news. So shit gets even out fairly quickly give or take if it was common place. When it's not just yet.
Fuck unions. Change the fucking law. Then we don’t have to go on stupid fucking strikes which hurts everyone more than it helps

This is a fun video how things should be.
This is exactly why a change to corporate licensure is better. Unions stagnated our economy in the 60s and 70s.
@love_conquers_lust strikes are the ultimate power of collective workers to bargain. Who are the people using raw material into products? Workers. You like Codetermination which everything a union is and represents on a larger scale but in this current economic climate is disregarded because of the very hatred of unions you also have in deep regard.
This is very weird.
@love_conquers_lust no it was actively killed and muder with mafia money gang shit untill the 2000s. If not just the last few years.
It's right here right now unions are reaching for everything fair.
More power to them until they get squashed. That’s why changing the law makes EVERY corporation negotiable with their workers. Then the only option for greedy owners is to down size to sole proprietors and expand if they don’t want to deal with corporate licensure.
@love_conquers_lust and solo proprietors then join a union if they have common sense. Someone is bitting a bullet and unions make sure the fair weather gamblers eat the cost.
Go to the polls and vote. You can keep working AND get the law changed. Better yet, use your stupid union to support a candidate that pushes those changes.
i haven't read too much into it, but it is likely they will lose just like the teachers are.

It's why you're in a dead end job.
Auto maker corporations (like many) make FAR more than their wage slave workers. As do Hollywood "stars".
What you are seeing in America now is tantamount to the "slave revolts" of the 1800's. These big bucks fat cats are raking in big bucks AND getting tax breaks to boot.
The workers get a pittance AND high bills and taxed to death, to pay for their bosses paychecks.
Actually, I'm doing what God told me to do and He has already informed me that it's going to be a few years before He bothers to tell me what to do with myself again.
I'd gladly take one of their jobs for $20 an hour right now, but that isn't what God wants me to do with myself.
As a union member I support all strikers. My plant went on strike in 2021. Believe me if it gets to the point of striking than things are bad. No one wants to strike, it sucks, drains your savings, stressful, etc. So if employees get to the point of striking it says more about the companies than the employees.
I don't know anything about that strike, but in general, every kind of worker can easily demand twice as much of their current pay, and still is underpaid in relationship to the ceos, stockholders, and whoever is profiting from their workforce.
The auto workers are literally demanding 300k per year salaries. I did the math and that would consume 80 percent of the company's profits before the stock holders even get a share.
In general if you look at statistics for salaries of workers and ceos, for rent and inflation, ...
There is a harsh break point, somewhere in the 60s/70s.
Before this breakpoint, salaries for all people, rent, inflation, was steadily growing at the same rate. CEOs earning 20x the money of the average worker. Rent being affordable, even the average joe could afford buying a house.
Than there is the break point, beyond that everything besides the salaries of the average worker continues to rise, mostly at a slighter higher pace. Now the average CEO earns almost 400x as much than the average worker. Rent is unafforable, no worker can buy a house, prices for food and basic needs exploded.
There is (almost) no middle class anymore, just poor people barely able to pay for their basic needs, working 3 full time jobs, and still living paycheck to paycheck, and the super rich.
Mmm…CEO of Ford made $21 million last year whilst the average worker made $75k. That’s pretty good if the average is labor. But I imagine it’s corporate staff.
And majority owners of Ford are Vanguard (worth $8 trill) and BlackRock ($100 bill). Both of which I invest in!
I don't see anything wrong with standing up for yourself even if you disagree with their demands
I support people who are striking for a living wage. I would never support people who are exploiting them like auto company executives and stockholders of auto companies who are simply parasites that create no value.
That's right. Fire all of them. Incur more onboarding costs and push more burnout. You're part of the problem.
Fuck stockholders who don't work.
Have you seen GM's 2022 profit? It was like $22 Billion. They can afford to increase wages.
Wouldn't bother me. I have no need for a car.
I support thier right to do what they're doing. But I think they're just giving those companies more reason to ship those jobs overseas and close those plants.
I haven't read too much of it. But if they're going on strike it's probably because they're being treated like crap. If management treat employees like crap then that's their karma
