What do you think of the Canada post strike?

if your from another country and haven't heard the postal service in Canada just went on strike called " Canada post " , same as the us postal service and yes crazy time for a postal strike rate before the holidays when everyone is ordering stuff online and wants it delivered before x mas

They have done this before and it usually gets resolved sooner than later. But there are a lot of smaller delivery companies that look for these opportunities to take on contracts for a cheaper price which will force Canada Post’s hand. The workers have rights and it is a very busy company working overtime to meet demands especially during the holiday season. I know when Purolator went on strike Canada Post took over some of the contracts to meet demands. I can see the same thing happening again.

there not an essential service , its likely they'll be ordered back to work though , maybe next week as its hurting a lot of businesses

Or they would have to use FedEx or ups I guess

Good for them, they picked the right time to strike before the holiday rush if they’re negotiating for better pay and work conditions

yeah but a lot of small businesses are going to lose a lot of money over this , its there main time of year to ship things

That’s the point. Disrupt the industry, make businesses hurt, give more reasons for a public demand for negotiation

but public can't afford to pay much more to mail things these days its already way too expensive , no one wants to pay even more for shipping and will hurt business more if there forced to charge even more to ship items

So the public can get involved and complain to their immovable bosses that won’t negotiate. Again, all of this is the point of the strike

i wasn't really planning to buy anything online , i do sell things online and sales aren't going to be good until this is resolved

but no one can afford to pay that much more for shipping and postal service already losing a lot of money , its like the union is trying to squeeze blood from a stone
