Thus is the information I found on google.
Akitas are banned or placed under heavy restrictions in many U. S. states because of their reputation for being aggressive. Some cities don't outright ban this breed, but they require that you handle your pup like a dangerous dog. You may have to muzzle your Akita when they're in public
This is other information I found online as well. These dogs are also banned in a number of other countries as well.
Thank you ❤️

Apparently 19 US states have laws or regulations at the state or individual city pertaining specifically to Akitas - not necessarily bans, but things like requiring them to be muzzled in public or having warning signs on your property. That's surprising news to me since 100% of the Akitas I've ever seen were extremely laid back dogs when not chasing squirrels.
I can say for an absolute certainty that Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Texas, and Virginia do not have any laws specific to the Akita (or any breed) because they actually ban breed-specific regulations.
AFAIK no dog breeds are banned in any states.
why would it be?
Someone at work has one , and they said they were banned in some US states due to a high number of attacks. But wasn't sure if it was true or not
that’s surprising, they’re usually pretty calm ime
