Its not a problem that can be solved overnight.
It also needs to be understood that violence, murder, and crime existed long before the gun was invented. Getting rid of them won't fix the underlying issue. You have to treat the disease, not the symptoms. Gun violence is a symptom. Crime is the disease.
Lets assume for a moment that they go ahead and agree to ban guns outright. There's no logistically feasable way to accomplish that. It'd be like banning cars. There's far too many of them out there for it to be a practical option. (Violation of the Constitution aside)
Violence and crime is the child of poverty and poor education. So I feel the best long term solution is the create better opportunities for education and better opportunities for people to work and support themselves.
And in the meantime, clamp down HARD on violent crime with severe punishment. Make bullying a real crime. Then secure and harden sensitive targets like schools with round the clock armed security. Which Ironically requires individuals to be armed with the exact weapons that gun grabbers want banned.
And don't pretend like the blame rests on soley republican shoulders. Democrats are absolutely terrible when it comes to dealing with violence and threats. Their sense of "tolerance" and "acceptance" toward dangerous people is tragically absurd. That's on top of democrats' habit of cashing in on tragedy and fear in order to assert more control over your life and subvert individual liberty. The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of the tyrants after all.
There is no quick and easy solution. There never was and there never will be. The only thing criminals and thugs respect is their own mortality. It is ultimately up to you, the individual, to save yourself. Yes, it may be a grim way of looking at it, but no one is coming to save you. You have to save yourself before you can save others.
And please don't mistake this for me defending republicans cause I'm not. I'm fed up with party too.
The short answer? No
The longer answer? The NRA has carefully embedded itself into the republican identity in American identity politics. This organization touts itself as a lover of individual freedoms and protection, providing a new context to the second amendment than what was originally intended. The second amendment was made because, as a brand-new nation in DIRECT conflict with the British empire, a world superpower, they feared being overthrown and thought it easier to give their citizens the right to act as their own soldiers with their own arms at their will rather than forcing every able body to be conscripted as that went terribly during the revolution. Now the second amendment is used as a way to protect yourself, and I’m not going to say guns have no use as a means of protection as there is nothing more terrifying to a would-be rapist, murderer, or thief than to hear “I have a gun and will shoot you if you come any closer” if they themselves are not armed. However, the NRA profits from making guns as freely available as possible to everyone, including those would-be crime makers that use them to commit said crimes. Not to mention the rise in public shooting incidents in school, shopping malls, movie theaters, town squares, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. is said to be caused by mental illness rather than the ease of gun access. The last point is admittedly very complex especially when you consider a majority of the shooters are straight, white males more than any others and speaks to why this particular group feels the need for violence as a solution more than others, but that’s a bit much for this post. In all, identity politics has made it so that republicans keep their guns and want to give more out to combat gun violence because people with a gun won’t shoot someone else with a gun, supposedly, rather than recognize the amount of public violence can be severely lowered and deterred by banning guns, not to mention gun ownership would make it extremely easy for police to legally arrest known gang members instead of trying to get them on small things like tax fraud as they did for Al Capone. The republican party isn’t going to vote to take away something they consider part of their identity.
Would you be OK if murderers that kill with guns get the death penalty? That would be a step in the right direction.
I understand the sentiment behind wanting to kill the killers as a solution to the problem but it’s a very complex issue that has no single solution to solve it. You’d have to look into more than just the death sentence but also the privatization of American prisons, how they profit from keeping harmless prisoners in as long as the violent ones, also going back to schools and institutions made to prepare kids for life as adults and learning to prevent and reroute the dangerous behaviors before they begin. There is no one singular source of problems here, and so there is also no one solution
Is that a yes?
It’s a “that’s too simple, we need a better plan that covers everything”
What do private prisons have to do with killing killers?
Private prisons function in the same way as public prisons in that they hold convicted felons either until their release dates or their public execution dates. Privatizing and profiting from prison systems means there is a financial incentive for people to not only give longer, harsher sentences to less violent crimes, but also to retain and gain as many new prisoners as possible. To do so, many private prisons will lobby for harsher sentences on lesser crimes that have virtually no victims so these prisons can do just that. And remember, executions are performed exclusively on convicted felons, and these prisoners on death row are the prisoners that bring these private institutions more money. I don't know about you, but I’m not exactly trusting the ethics of being paid to kill people.
"profiting from prison systems means there is a financial incentive for people to not only give longer, harsher sentences to less violent crimes"
I thought the courts gave out the sentences. Did that change?
Laws change, yes. Hence the lobbying to the government for longer, harsher sentences
Should the killers be killed?
If I thought it led to a genuine solution to the problem of killing innocents, yes. But obviously the world is not as simple as that in a country that produces 60% of all the world’s serial killers and a prison system that makes a profit off of their arrest.
@ScisorsAndRaisins "I thought the courts gave out the sentences. Did that change?"
You also have problems with the people who run the private prisons just outright bribing judges to give the longest and harshest sentences possible, or even just trumping up charges in concert with the DA, if it's not a trial by jury. In principle, I would support the death penalty on all murder in the first and second degree, regardless of implement, but I do not trust the state to sentence and carry out the death penalty impartially.
@KorvoWintrish I don't trust the state to do it before we all die of old age anyway, either.
If "It's not guns that kill people it's people that kill people" then how about some fucking FUNDING FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES? How about some funding PUBLIC EDUCATION? How about BAN VIOLENT OFFENDERS from owning guns—including DOMESTIC VIOLENCE offenders?
If it's people not the guns, then there's STILL A FUCKING PROBLEM TO ADDRESS. Arguably, a much much bigger, deeper problem than just how many guns there are. And almost NOBODY in power is doing fucking ANYTHING about it.
Will Democrats ever be satisfied with enough laws? They tried to nullify the second amendment but failed in the Supreme Court. But that doesn't stop them. They keep chipping away and using the most underhanded means to accomplish their goal, which is to disarm honest American citizens, NOT to save lives.
On the other hand, it's not just Republicans standing up for their self-evident, unalienable, constitutionally guaranteed rights.
It's people like this:
Liberal Rifle Association, Gun Loving Liberal, Liberals for Gun Rights, Democrats for Gun Ownership, Blue Steel Democrat, Pink Pistols, Armed Equality (LGBTQ), Women Against Gun Control, Mother's Arms, 1 Million Moms Against Gun Control, Liberty Belles, Babes with Bullets, Women's Firearm Network, A Girl & A Gun, Second Amendment Sisters, the National African-American Gun Association, Black Guns Matter, Brown Girls With Guns, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO), Jews Can Shoot, Law Enforcement Alliance of America, Law Students for the Second Amendment, Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, Second Amendment Foundation, American Firearms Institute, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Every 2nd Matters, Firearms Policy Coalition, Rifles and Reason, the National Rifle Association, the International Association for the Protection of Civil Arms Rights, and Firearms United.
And those are just national organizations.
Notice anything interesting? Liberals, Democrats, women, racial minorities, women, LGBTQ, doctors, lawyers, law enforcement, ...
And who wants to disarm Americans? Globalists like Michael Bloomberg, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Rupert Murdock, George Soros. Do you think they are motivated by concern for the suffering of mere commoners? 😢
What's funny to me is that American gun laws historically were made with the aim to disarm the poor and the ethnic/racial minorities. All the laws the Democrat party pushed for were targeted *against* these people.
Opinion

probably not. the NRA provides at least tens of thousands of dollars to government folk who support them. after the shooting at the country festival in vegas i realized that the republican party was even willing to let their own die as martyrs
what gun violence?
mass shootings are more common in Europe
U. S ranks 11th in mass shootings and 12th in frequency of mass shootings among western countries once you adjust for population size www.investors.com/.../
Guns are used defensively 100k to 2.5 million times per year. Even the smallest measure is 3x the gun casualties per year
https://www.nap.edu/read/10881/chapter/7#112
so more americans are saved each year than guns and america never had an exceptionally high mass shooting rate to begin with
the only places that have high gun crime rate are among blacks and... nobody wants to talk about that
great supply of data: "only in u. s." obama lied... while eastern Europe has mass killings, and more. the rate of u. s. not even top ten of modern Europe countries.
Will Democrats stop doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? If you let out career criminals by dropping their gun changes, but throw the book at people who use firearms to defend themselves and their property, the only result is going to be scared people, more property crime, more robberies more murders and more assaults. I refuse to believe Democrats are dumb enough to have not considered the consequences of their actions and policies in the current year of 2023.
Why? They prove it time and time again!
The Republican stance on firearms is that the right to self-defense holds paramount significance, even when juxtaposed against the tragic phenomenon of school shootings. This perspective is grounded in the belief that relinquishing arms may inadvertently empower a potentially tyrannical government, thereby catalyzing greater injustices. Furthermore, from a broad standpoint, Republicans have traditionally espoused more stringent positions on criminal justice compared to their Democratic counterparts.
We're doing our best to get rid of you democrats but, YOUR officials keep letting all the criminals out of jail!! Maybe you should've thought of that before you opened up the jails AND the border!! As long as you keep voting in criminals, expect to have loads of them roaming your streets!! Apparently, that's exactly what you wanted!!
But, I guess that's the difference between dems and republicans: republicans THINK!!
As a foreigner I often see this debate go back in forth in threads about the US.
It feels endless because neither side can be impartial about it, they all add in the emotions of either love or hate to guns.
Guns are dangerous and largely unnecessary, but violence itself is irrelevant of the medium.
When you breed violent tendencies as well as spoiling your youth it's natural things will turn deadly. Fixing the problem comes down to fixing education and upbringing.
And yes, no other country does this right, this isn't some shot at the US in specific as a species we open too many doors for violent outcomes
It's not the guns. It is the way people are raised no days. When I went to school everyone had a gun in their truck or vehicle and there were NO school shootings. If people got a mandatory 30 year minimum sentence, no parole I think violent crime would reduce. It's not the gun, knife, axe, lawn tools etc it is the people who decide to commit violent crime.
and people telling themselves nobody sees me, as atheism spreads, motivated criminals.
It's also the lack of fathers in the homes. Look at every school shooter, every one or very nearly every one doesn't have a father figure in the home. Fathers are where a young boy draws their sense of morality from, their sense of respect for life. And also their limits, because a father is often one of the few people in the home who can physically restrain a teenage boy, especially if that boy is into sports or something similar.
@LunarEclipse433 we all had pocketknives on us too. Didn't have random stabbings in the bathrooms every day.
@strateguy632 Atheism? There are countries in Europe that are far less religious than the US. They beat the US on every measure of general welfare.
I have owned a gun for 40 years and it never attacked anyone by itself. It is PEOPLE who are violent, not guns. How long will Democrats just pretend that they want to do something while they misdirect their energies?
Motor vehicles kill many more people than guns but we don't outlaw them because we recognize that it is careless, or homicidal, drivers who kill people, not the vehicles.
Especially drunk drivers! But, we don't ban booze!!
Regardless, or shall I say, irregardless of what you did or didn't do over 40 years, that gun may rear up and kill thousands with a high capacity clip at any moment.
@BoopBoopBeep Better hire guards to keep a watch on that gun to make sure it doesn't run off and kill anyone!
@BoopBoopBeep I assume you are being facetious, but there are some who would utter that statement and sincerely mean it (you know, the same people who would say that men can have babies.)
It means, guns don't kill people. People kill people and some use guns for that
@FunkyMonkee and those guards I hire would be armed to shoot the evil gun if necessary... so there'd have to be guards to watch their guns as well, and eventually everyone has a job and tax the rich
@Opinion owner, yes I'm being facetious. I'm well aware of the great value guns bring to a person in a position of weakness. I'm not one to ever advocate my elderly mother toe off with a burglar in hand-to-hand like some of the idiots I talk to. I'm also aware the narrative put out by anti-gun sissies, the U. S. doesn't lead the world in mass shootings. In fact, it doesn't even make the top 10, when measured by death rate per million population from mass public shootings.
So who's tops? Surprisingly, Norway is, with an outlier mass shooting death rate of 1.888 per million (high no doubt because of the rifle assault by political extremist Anders Brevik that claimed 77 lives in 2011). No. 2 is Serbia, at just 0.381, followed by France at 0.347, Macedonia at 0.337, and Albania at 0.206. Slovakia, Finland, Belgium, and Czech Republic all follow. Then comes the U. S., at No. 11, with a death rate of 0.089.
That's not all. There were also 27% more casualties from 2009 to 2015 per mass shooting incident in the European Union than in the U. S.
"There were 16 cases where at least 15 people were killed," the study said. "Out of those cases, four were in the United States, two in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom."
"But the U. S. has a population four times greater than Germany's and five times the U. K.'s, so on a per-capita basis the U. S. ranks low in comparison — actually, those two countries would have had a frequency of attacks 1.96 (Germany) and 2.46 (UK) times higher."
"But... but... high capacity MAGS!"... but according to FBI crime data cited this week by the Daily Caller, deaths by knives in the U. S. outnumber deaths by rifles by five to 1: In 2016, 1,604 people were killed by knives and other cutting instruments, while 374 were killed by rifles.
Start cutting your soy steaks with a spoon then, because knives MUST GO! Think of the children!
@BoopBoopBeep I never said anything about guards having guns. Just guard them and make sure they don't run off and kill people.
@FunkyMonkee But high capacity mags!
@BoopBoopBeep Yeah? What about them?
@FunkyMonkee They should be guarded too. And wheeled about like Hannibal Lecter. That'll make them harder for mass killers to buy
@BoopBoopBeep You're talking about Lott's ridiculous claims. I addressed them ages ago. Does Europe have more mass shootings than the USA? ↗ The thing about knife and vehicle deaths is that you can run away from the former and vehicles have a practical purpose other than killing people. Drinking and driving is already banned.
@goaded Well, part of that IS my point, that statistics can be manipulated to support either side of an argument. I'm not particularly worried about being in a true mass shooting in Europe or the U. S. I don't hang out in areas where a drive-by is likely to happen. I also don't particularly care when gangs want to take each other out, so long as innocents aren't caught in the crossfire. More than a thousand people were killed by knives. "Just run away" didn't work for them. I'm not a fast guy, which is why the last guy that pulled a knife on me just got shot in the face, but that wasn't stateside OR Europe, so that doesn't count.
Considering how few firearms deaths there are, and most guns will never be involved in a killing if killing people was the primary purpose of a gun then they suck at it. Equalizing a person and enabling them to secure their own person is the practical purpose of a firearm. That my mother is still around is testament to their effectiveness at it.
Also the working definition of "school shooting" is too loose to be meaningful. Someone who commits suicide in the parking lot at 1800 during spring break is not the same as that Dylan Randolf (or whatever the loser's name was) that joined his other loser friend and shot up their school.
@BoopBoopBeep Where is 1800?
@FunkyMonkee time... after school... when no one is there
@BoopBoopBeep Oh! 6:00.
@BoopBoopBeep "Well, part of that IS my point, that statistics can be manipulated to support either side of an argument."
Except only one side feels they have to manipulate the statistics, why do you think that is? Europe is far safer than the US in terms of firearm deaths, hands down. That's even if you include Russia, which nobody seriously considers part of Europe, especially the Russians.
Like I pointed out in my old Take, Lott didn't even follow his own standards and ignored the massive differences in population.
@goaded Come now, both sides manipulate the statistics. That's why the anti gun crowd would have us believe every time we go out the door we're rolling the dice on becoming a mass shooter casualty. Our firearms deaths are conflated... rather, the safety one faces despite them. Half our deaths are suicide. I'm in no danger there. Another very good portion is gang violence. I'm in no danger there. I'm far more concerned with drunk/high drivers because they are far more likely to hurt me. Having deployed a gun multiple times in the U. S., and having several friends/family who have done the same, we all managed to walk away despite what the media would have us believe is the ticking timebomb in our hands.
@BoopBoopBeep There's a difference between using and manipulating statistics.
You seem to be suggesting there are so few mass shootings in the US it's not worth doing anything about them. Because every time you go out the door there IS a chance you'll be caught in a mass shooting, albeit a very low chance, depending on where you live. It's not unlike an evil lottery (and also a weekly occurrence).
I know that people choose firearms to commit suicide, but I'm talking about murders and Lott was lying about mass shootings. Saying that people pointing out 30,000 gun deaths are manipulating the statistics because "only" 14,000 were murders is missing the point by a very large margin. That's 4.2 firearm murders per 100,000 population (and it's only September). Europe's murder rate is 3.0 for the whole year.
You've "deployed" a gun multiple times, have you? Why? Did the other person have a gun, or were you simply terrorising someone who was angry with you? Either way, the chance that you might be carrying one didn't deter them at all, did it.
@goaded The first time my mother did it people were breaking through our window. The second time they were going to rob (or worse) her as she left work. The first two times mine came in handy were attempted muggings (one strong armed, one with a piece of rebar). Once some road rage a-hole that was mad I was letting geese cross on the two lane road got out and started banging on my car, threatening to beat my ass. I don't believe any of them had guns. If they do they hadn't deployed them. I wasn't going to offer to let them to retrieve one to make it fair. That seems ill-advised. They all left in handcuffs and I assume the cops would have taken their weapons off of them, but sadly that's not always the case and I didn't personally pat them all down. The guy overseas that got shot in the face did have a gun on him. I suppose "terrorizing them" is subjective. They certainly looked scared, but, that's the intent isn't it? That's what persuades them to make better life choices left of bang. If they aren't scared, we may end up right of bang, and sounds to me like you want fewer shot people.
I'm not concerned about the chance deterring them. I know when they were on the ground with my barrel behind their ear they were deterred enough. Did it deter them to make a turnaround and become an upstanding member of society? I doubt it. I also don't care. That's never been the intent of deterrence.
When my mom saved herself from a very bad day it wasn't the fear she may be carrying that deterred them. I'm sure that's been written somewhere, but I've never known anyone who actually said or believed that. It was the very real probability of realizing their mortality that stopped them, and if it hadn't than a couple talons to CM is a pretty good punctuation mark. My exes that deployed or used theirs weren't doing it to deter anyone off possibility they were doing so to equalize (or better) their odds on the playing field.
@BoopBoopBeep Is it any wonder foreigners think America's a dangerous hell-hole?
Most gun violence is in urban areas which are controlled by democrats. The news will always focus on the lone wolf incels who shoot people but pretend the hundreds of gang and drug related shootings don't happen. In Portland, one of the most liberal cities in the country, there are constant gunshots every night and nobody goes to jail since they defunded the police and installed Soros-backed DA's after the fentanyl Floyd riots.
Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.
A loaded gun is inert until someone pulls the trigger.
Moreover, taking guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens will not change anything except to embolden criminals who will acquire a weapon regardless of how many laws are on the books.
Unless you are an actor. LOL Bad safety control on that one.
They will when they start losing elections because they continue to block sensible gun laws. Recent elections in Kansas, Wisconsin, and Ohio should have taught them that abortion bans are unpopular almost everywhere. If they keep pandering to the anti-abortion extremists, they may well lose both the House and Senate in 2024.
abortion hahaha, change the subject to abortion. fine, The House ALREADY passed an abortion law, about fetus can feel pain in 2016. and since then rnc regained control of the house as voters see dnc disasters.
@strateguy632 That was just a bill, and it was as irrelevant than as it is now.
@slatyb You think the Republican party is still capable of adjusting its message? Have you seen the reaction to Trump's attempt to look reasonable for the general election? They've hitched their wagon to stealing elections any way they can. e. g. www.theguardian.com/.../wisconsin-republicans-vote-fire-meagan-wolfe-election-official eu.jsonline.com/.../
Maybe they'll write a law. People always follow those.
Dems are REALLY good at that!!
@FunkyMonkee Obviously. That's why all the dem controlled strongholds like St. Louis, Chicago, NYC are bastions of proper society.
Yeah, we should all take lessons from them! They're OBVIOUSLY doing it right! San Fran and L. A., too!
@FunkyMonkee Seattle, Portland, D. C., Baltimore...
Yeah, them, too! All GREAT examples of what NOT to do!
You could always get a gun and learn how to defend yourself from other Democrats... You already have the right to use defensive force and the right to keep and bear arms. What else do you need, a spine?
It’s absolutely not a “one party” problem. Gun violence is far more complex than that. I’m kind of on the front lines of it and I’ll tell you I don’t think we can “fix” it with laws or incarceration alone.
Nor outlawing guns!
Are democrats ever going to stop whining about everything while they sit on their ass and not put in work to fix anything they complain about?
guns CANNOT shoot unless a person fired them. background checks screen those. but you assume without guns people won't murder... by stabbing knives. take away guns? won't stop murders.
clarification the shooter is the one responsible not the Republicans as your picture wrongly misrepresented.
also in case you didn't notice murders are done by CRIMINALS who ignore laws... so rnc laws are useless for criminals, so the real problem is democrat d. a. that seem lenient and that are not punishing enough criminals.
We can look to the UK what happens when you ban guns. Then knives become a problem, and now you need a photo ID saying you're 18+ to buy a BUTTER KNIFE over there.
"We can look to the UK for* what happens. . ."
I do wish this site had an edit button for comment replies.
@KorvoWintrish So do I!!
OK, I'm not an American, but I lived there for over 10 years, looking at the "Guns and Violence" from an outsiders POV it seems that the biggest problem is the Law Enforcement organisations (FBI, BATF, etc) are not focused on dealing with crimes using illegally possessed firearms, the condition of Chicago is a case in point. And I've checked into the backgrounds of the 'spree shooters' and they strongly favour the democrat/left side of the political spectrum.
I hope somebody walks in to my house and tries to rob me. I'll shoot 10 rounds of.22 long rifle rounds in to him and if he is still moving then I'll shoot him again with a 9mm. I don't want Republicans or anybody to take my guns away. I would like to rid this country of scum bags myself if they allow me to.
The real question, is, WHAT can be done about guns and violence? If I were Jesus Christ, I would not know where to start! ?
„From my cold, dead haaaaands…“
- Charlton Heston
I‘m guessing it got buried with him… sort of Winnetou/Old Shatterhand style. 🤔
Will Democrats Ever Do Anything About Guns and Violence in America that actually works and does not sacrifice liberty?
Maybe start reversing their social engineering measures to incentivize fathers in the home again, that might help.
@KorvoWintrish that would help a lot.
Probably get the fbi to stop giving guns to people with serious mental health issues.
They do, though. It's just they actively make it worse and worse.
Hitler robbed the germans of all their guns before installing full blown fascism..
JS
They do nothing that isn't profitable to themselves, no.
Dems do nothing and it IS profitable to them!
@FunkyMonkee what an idiot. Your party is the one that openly campaigns on shutting down government if it has funding to do any work at all, lol. Stupid ragetard 🤭
That's you all over!!
@FunkyMonkee ahaha, worthless ragetard with your classic "I know you are but what am j" retorts 😂
It's better than any of the childish shit you've posted here!
@FunkyMonkee no, shithead, it's you worthless fuckwits that threaten violence every time you don't get your way. Nothing is more childish than threatening violence, piece of shit ragetard 😅
You mean, like you're doing right now? Thanks for proving my point, needledick!
@FunkyMonkee I've threatened no violence, stupid piece of shit ragetard 🤣
Nope, theirs nothing that you can realistically do to stop it.
That's a fair question.
The conservatives don't like the idea of restricting gun ownership. I can respect that. But if one considers countries with stronger gun control, it seems to reduce a lot of violent killings.
Lock up people that have unregister3d firearms would be a start
What? No one registers firearms if they live in a free state. Some states have banned registries. The only reason for a registration is for confiscation later.
@DarkWinterNights The state that I live in has a law on the books of a mandatory year in jail for possession of an unregistered hand gun. This law is not enforced because it was mostly gang bangers that got lugged for this and so it was racist. There are shootings and murders in the city every week and the vast majority are in neighborhoods of color and if the cops end up arresting somebody they usually have an unregistered gun.
They raided a gang bang and found guns?
@FunkyMonkee hahahahhaaa it was not exactly a gang bang.
American gun laws are made to disarm the poor and the ethnic minorities, including the NFA and other such laws.
@KorvoWintrish Facts!
My state doesn't register firearms.
Maybe when Democrats do something about Nlgger violence, we'll start combating the violence in OUR community.
I think school security should be increased. The reason why the vast majority of mass shootings happen at schools is because they’re soft targets
We're not disarming society. Am not about to make women vulnerable like that.
Unlikely. But Democrats aren't either - they push stupid legislation that doesn't address the root problems.
Will shitlibs EVER stop trying to disarm women, the elderly, and disabled people so they can be robbed, raped, and killed?
Maybe lock up violent criminals instead of stealing innocent citizens’ firearms. Better yet, maybe start enforcing the law instead of taking police away from high crime areas.
Considering that their plan to eal. with gun violence is more guns, probably not.
Passing laws won't do a thing. Politics is a joke here.
because criminals are the ones shooting and criminals who ignore law of murder will equally ignore gun laws. anti republican is VERY so pathetic
The Republican party is trash but guns aren't the root problem due to gun violence.
when they stop getting money from gun companies like all the pollution's get money for their votes
clever but they want to get elected by VOTERS.
You mean aside from offering thoughts and prayers?
There is a statistic that carrying guns saves around 200,000 lives a year
at website nap dot edu defensive use, stopping crimes instead of waiting for cops long time.
No, they want the steady flow of guns so they can commit genocide.
Other than encouraging it? No.
GUNS are not the problem people are!!!
Guns don't kill the people.
No. It keeps them in power.
No, of course not.
What have the Democrats done?
@ScisorsAndRaisins They've had any bill they tried to pass either killed in committee or voted down. Please don't make an idiot of yourself, though you kind of already have just by your response, and educate yourself.
www.cbsnews.com/.../
Every and any significant change in gun laws has been thwarted by the Republicans since 2000.

When I say "any bill", I mean "any bill of significance". Changing a waiting period from 0 days to 2 days, is not significant change.
What bill allowed Biden to sell our strategic oil supply to China?
@ScisorsAndRaisins Why don't you read this so you actually "understand" what happened.
