Do you think we should reinstate the johnson ammendment and forbid tax exempt churches from speaking on abortion rights?

I feel like one of the most effective ways to stop the Reich wing from ever harming women on abortion rights is to ban the churches from speaking on abortion or anything else political if they still want to keep their tax exempt status. They want to say vile things and shame women then make them pay the most in taxes and that will quickly shut them up.

That would be rather daft.

First they are "tax exempt" because you cannot tax donations, it would mean that all money donated or lent would need to be taxed as well.

As for their stances. They can take any they like under the first amendment. But it would be rather exclusionary of them to muck into politics. Seeing as their followers will be from all sorts of political spectrums.
