If he does get elected President

Frankly the idea that you can arbitrary declare something to be an "insurrection" and people who were not involved as involved to avoid having to run against them really just underscores one of the more serous dangerous of the irresponsible nature of 14th amendment.
There is a reason this amendment was never legitimately ratified. The people at the time knew it wreak-less language written by morons soon to be thrown out of office would lend itself to abuse. By power hungry and corrupt politicians.
Unfortunately the 14th amendment's problems don't end there. Most of our modern issues with the Constitution and the ever more arbitrary Federal 'court' over which we fight to the death to control is due to the same 14th amendment.
Why wouldn’t voters vote for someone who is currently facing criminal charges?
It’s not like he spent his life ripping other people off, forcing them to lose the businesses they worked for years to establish, driving them to live the rest of their lives bankrupt.
