It was unfortunate that this had to happen but McCarthy was installed as speaker to reign in spending and eliminate some of the waste that our tax dollars are being spent on. He caved in January and was caning now. I don;t know how it will end up but it was a necessary step. Matt Goetz showed a lot of courage and integrity to do this. He makes no friends with this and it will most likely not further his career.

Speakers are supposed to get their party's priorities passed into law. That usually involves some compromise, which wasn't a dirty word until Republicans made it one.

McCarthy made a side deal with Biden about Ukraine and nothing else was going to happen. This was unfortunate but it needed to be done.
