How do you tell someone nicely their house is a mess?

Feel like being blunt about it can offend people, but how uncomfortable is it for someone to be so unembarassed by their messy house that they invite you to sit in their filth

I'm sure they are aware and maybe they are embarassed. It's possible the person may be suffering from depression and feels lost and don't know where to begin with the clean up.

My house is currently a mess and I know someone like you would judge me for it. I'm trying to get on top of it but I'm struggling. I'm a mom with zero help and zero support I also have an infant who just constantly cries and wants to be held all of the time.

Watch those YouTube or tiktok videos where professional cleaners go in and help people to clean when you watch those videos you realise those people are really embarrassed to have an uncleaned and messy home

It’s not a room of judgment , I don’t respect him any less, it’s just the fact that a clean house brings comfort to me and I can’t actively eat in the same enclosed small room as a dog that plops to take a poop in. It makes me not want to go over but he invites me over and I just can’t do it.

My ex girlfriend was the biggest slob. She used to keep all her laundry on the bed and just poked through the pile when she needed something to wear. She had a cat and let the cat pee wherever he wanted to. She never cleaned the bathroom and it smelled really bad. I never complained about it.

Just tell them. Be blunt about it and don’t hold back. They obviously need a dose of reality right to their face.
