I study geoeconomics and geopolitics and admittedly, this is for major concern, but I don't think it will escalate too far unless Iran has something else in mind or another unknown party (proxy wars or another puppet master). Even if Iran did a surprise invasion, the US would get involved and if there's one fact that the world knows is that it has always been a VERY bad idea to attack a US ally militaristically because it would provoke a response from the G7 collectively (the US has already sent an aircraft carrier to support Israel).

For example, you see how the G7 is reacting to China or Russia even economically? If it does escalate, there will be attempts to negotiate first because a full scale war could spill out into the Middle East and disrupt the world's greatest source of energy exports (oil), which means gas goes up tremendously and thus we all lose, except maybe for Russia or other countries that do not rely on oil imports to survive.

Lastly, the Hamas in Palestine do not have anywhere near the fire or manpower to take on Israel, so they have to resort to guerilla warfare. Guerilla warfare, if done properly, is virtually unbeatable, but the challenge is maintaining discipline for years if not decades is very difficult to do. In short, it increases tensions in the region, but a full scale war is highly unlikely.

I think WW3 is upon us. Hamas obviously is taking advantage of the fact that America has its pants down dicking around with Ukraine and Russia while letting things go to shit within its own borders. I fear they're not going to be able to help Israel if they want to. On top of that, we have American Lefties celebrating this as a win for Palestine as if they'd give two shits in the wind about them in return... it's retarded.

Supposedly we just gave Iran $5M and they are known to support groups like Hamas?

Supposedly we give Ukraine money, and China, and China gives support to Russia to go at it with Ukraine... why are we giving money to China again?, a developing nation? Still when they have space satellites and shit? Word? For reals?

All I know is Biden got in... and more and more each day... it's looking like we're fucking ourselves and our friends. We don't even know who's ass we're fucking or kissing anymore. It's not for the citizens... but I'll bet money that it's putting money in a Biden account somewhere. Now let's cheer as they try to strip Trump of his properties. <--sarcasim.

I'm blackpilled on it... I think we're fucked at this point. I look around at fellow citizens and they either think this is the best shit ever or righteous, or they're blackpilled in one way or another just like me.

@d_bone_steak Why would we be giving China money except to pay down our trade deficit with them? They can't be hurting for money like we are.

@YesterdaysChild Oh but they need help as a "developing country" ... that's the excuse anyway. The truth... Who China pays in our population is why. Dig up a spending bill and use alt-F and just dig into anything China... you'll find it. Here is some money. The bigger problem is it's not just China... it's even so-called enemies. We hand out money like it's nothing and the money is from thin air. The same shit that caused the 2008 housing collapse... that got bailed out for the banks but not for the home buyers.

Not the end of the world, but the end of the delicate non-fighting between Israel and the Palestinian extremists of Hamas. But Israel is being run by an extremist too. Nothing much good can come of this conflict.

Israel has the capability to bomb the Gaza out of existence. And right in the middle of burgeoning negotiations with Arab nations! This sidelines that. Ew.

It is distressing. Hamas cannot win. But Israel isn't right as rain either. There has to be negotiations at a sane table. That is the only win-win possible.

One of the main reasons Hamas did this is because they use civilians as human shields when Israel retaliates (which is a war crime in itself). Hamas intentionally puts their military headquarters underneath civilian structures like apartment buildings, mosques, hospitals and schools. And the Israeli military actually tries to WARN civilians of incoming attacks. They fire special non-destructive rockets that shake building roofs to scare civilians to evacuate. They call building owners and try to warn civilians of incoming rocket attacks.

But Hamas is now literally telling civilians to stay put in the Gaza Strip. They WANT innocent civilians to get murdered via collateral damage. This way they can keep lying to the world that they are the “victims@. This will also all but destroy the peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

And right now Palestinian supporters are CHEERING a heinous terrorist attack that INTENTIONALLY targeted defenseless innocent civilians. Hundreds of women have been raped. Hundreds of people have been abducted including innocent children (for beyond heinous purposes).

This isn’t a “military” incursion. This wasn’t collateral damage. No this pure terrorism and unadulterated evil. Ever called someone a “Nazi”. This is what Nazis do. Exactly.

What disgusts me the most is the Palestinian sympathizers WORLDWIDE (London, New York, Sydney) are CHEERING yes CHEERING this evil insanity.

So I don’t give us the “ But Israel is being run by an extremist too.”. Nah BULLSHIT. Israel gave up the Gaza Strip back in 2005. Hamas controls it. No this is pure hatred and about ethnic cleansing of Jews. Hamas wants to initiate a 2nd Holocaust.

@blueonblack22 I agree that this is what Hamas wants. It's blind, however. And Netanyahu IS very far right. Cutting off water and food to Gaza is an international war crime.

I get that Hamas positions itself near civilians, THEIR civilians, and doesn't care about collateral damage. They simply want to achieve their ends. Destroy Israel and the Jews.

But this rift is thousands of years old. Israel and the Arabs HAVE to sit down at a negotiations table to stop this bloodshed and animosity. They both have to give ground. Not through Hamas, but through an actual Palestinian governing group. It's a wicked problem.

Alright I had to step away after I read that earlier when you said “Cutting off water and food to Gaza is an international war crime”

Ah a few key points about “cutting of water and food”:

      - Israel has been giving the Gaza Strip water and electricity for FREE since 2005
      - Palestine funding which was meant to improve infrastructure instead was used for terrorism. Hamas literally used pipe material meant for water/sewage to instead build more rockets.
      - Israel has done all its can to warn Gaza Strip civilians of the incoming invasion including of them a MAP of where to evacuate.
      - Hamas told Gaza Strip civilians to STAY and be martyred.
      - Hamas celebrates death. Their words not mine. This includes the death of your OWN children by using them as human shields.

There is NO moral equivalence here. No “cycle” of violence. Absolutely zero justification for what the militants did. NONE.

There is no pluralism here. Seriously what would you make want to behead a BABY? What? Hamas aren’t humans they are animals. Period.

And if you can’t acknowledge that you above are best very ignorant. At best. Did you know the number one targeted group for hate crime is in the USA? According to FBI statistics it isn’t African Americans. No it’s JEWS. But we don’t condemn anti-semiticism when it comes from the left. No.

What Hamas wants is racial CLEANSING in the Middle East. Not “liberaron”. Also ironic that Egypt and Jordan which are both Arabic countries refuse to take in Palestinian refugees.

@blueonblack22 Again, this is a many pronged, complicated problem that has existed forever in the middle East and became exacerbated after the Holocaust and WWII when the Brits left Israel and handed it over to Jewish refugees from Europe in reparations for what happened. But Arabs always lived there too. So THIS action, no matter how justified it seemed at the time, brought with it eons of resentment.

America and others thought it a fine idea because it gives them a strong Middle Eastern presence, and is why it is so strongly supported by the US, Britain and others.

And it's not ironic that Egypt and Jordan don't want and influx of refugees fleeing from war. Neither of those countries are rich and Syria and Lebanon have been suffering for years. Saudis are the only relatively rich and fairly stable nation, but they don't want have-nots either and no one wants possible Hamas-connected people flowing into their countries dragging along their chaotic agendas with them.

What Hamas appears to have done is destabilize the situation in Israel and because of their actions are generating further hate against Israel. I know all about Hamas' insanity. They are "by any means necessary" terrorists, which is what terrorism is all about. We'll kill their children and ours to to achieve our ends.

Not ignorant at all. And just because they've been giving "free" electricity and water to Gaza since 2005 doesn't mean it is humane to cut it off depriving the people there of the ability to survive, therefore forcing them to flee. But if borders to elsewhere are closed, where can they go?

And of course Hamas wants racial/ethnic cleansing. That's been clear always. And there is no justification for terrorism. Or wanting to wipe out any people, religious group, country.

But you cannot meet blood with more blood and think that is an ultimate solution. Violence begets violence. But the negotiation table with a real Palestinian government is the only realistic solution. You cannot negotiate with terrorists. They are not rational and do not seek rational ends.

They are humans. But horribly misguided, wrongheaded ones. Humans have been acting this way since civilizations began. But there is another way.

I condemn any and all anti semitism, and all kinds of other "isms." They are all based on irrational hates and fears. But humans are filled with these kinds of anxieties. Straight thinking folks need to lead the way.

Okay a few facts about this:

      - Israeli tuned off the electricity/water because they are demanding THE RETURN of hostages. Are you supposed to keep giving electricity and water to your enemy right after they attacked you?
      - Hamas was elected by the Palestinian people and still has a 52% favorable approval rating. Why is that?
      - Your are right about “not negotiating with terrorists”. But you know exactly what that means, right?
      - Hamas IS RESPONSIBLE for every drop of innocent Palestinian blood dropped during this conflict. Every single drop. THEY are committing war crimes and atrocities during this conflict. Not Israel.

Seriously what do you expect Israel to do after HAMAS intentionally target civilians, raped & abducted women and beheaded babies?

You keep judging these people as if the world the same way you do. Pluralism. That’s. wrong. Real evil DOES exist. Even WW2 Nazi’s tried to hide their genocide of the Jews. Hamas is f*cking bragging about it!

Hamas needs to be completely wiped off the face of the earth. And yes there are going to be a lot of innocent Palestinian lives lost because of HAMAS. Not Israel.

But Hamas WANTS to get their own innocent civilians killed because they know the western media will cover it and twist it as Israeli’s fault. And so many idiots in the west eat that all up.

There is no middle ground here. No reciprocity. Comparing the crimes of Israeli to the crimes of Hamas is like comparing citric acid to cyanide.

@blueonblack22 Oh, Hamas was the attacker, and I heard this morning from the Israeli government's foreign minister that those rockets are launched using electricity, so, it appears it's paramount that the electricity be cut off to stop them.

It appears the collateral damage of the citizenry is a price Hamas elects to pay, and until the people get Hamas to stop, the only tact to take is to cut off electricity and other necessities..

My question is, how can support for Hamas end, if you say 52% support Hamas? Palestinians have children and want to live their lives without war and deprivation. They also don't want to be second-class citizens, which is what has happened in Israel. If half the Palestinians support Hamas, every Palestinian is suspected of wanting to destroy Israel. But destruction of Israel, will also destroy the Palestinians' statehood chances.

In war, nobody wins. A win-win has to be sought. Outsider influences need to be solicited to get to a sane outcome. It won't happen with Hamas. And it won't happen while Israel is pounding them into the ground. Both need to pull back to consider the long game.

@Screenwriter Israel has long had its hands tied because:

      - No other country wants to take over the Gaza Strip. Both Egypt and Jordan said hell no to that idea.
      - Hamas is a conduit for dirty work for Iran which hates Israel. But other Arabic countries ESPECIALLY Iran wants the Gaza Strip to be oppressed because suffering people are easier to brainwash.
      - As discussed earlier Israel now has full justification to do what they need to do. But already the media is flooded with pictures of innocent Palestinian civilians being harmed with the narrative that it’s Israel’s. That is going exactly as Hamas planned.

But we bothers me the most is how people are reacting to this in WESTERN countries. People rallying and chanting “from the river to the sea” (which means the annihilation of Israeli Jews) on American and European college campuses and cities just made me throw up in my mouth. Especially white leftist morons supporting this including white liberal FEMALES supporting Hamas which is radical Islamic ideology. And none of them are making the distinction between the Palestinian people vs Hamas. That’s horrifying.

Does Islamic fundamentalists have a great track record of gender equality?

@blueonblack22 I haven't heard this chant. It's very strange and it IS the combination of youth and ignorance. I have a young-ish son. 28. He is still in the age of "black and white." I voted for governor of my state and a few amendments. I mentioned that he ought to vote. This is a child I TOOK with me into the voting booth every year until he was old enough not to go. Just as my parents took ME.

I've drummed into him the idea that people died for his right to vote here. YET, he spouts the ridiculous idea that "all government is corrupt and I'm not going to participate in a corrupt system!"

You can't change the system unless you vote and participate in its change, can you? He couldn't counter that, but clearly, he was hanging with those who agreed with him... So, those women and others are doing the same.

If no one is challenging their ideas with counter ideas and hard facts, there is no chance for change. And the awful BLACK AND WHITE of youth, is terribly limiting. Shades of gray is the problem of life. But with shades, you have to do WORK to make decisions and even after that work, sometimes it is the lesser of two evils, not a PERFECT CHOICE, which black-and-white thinking often presents.

But, in the end, my son said, well what can I read up on the candidates... then... well I don't have time. He WILL have time between the primary (today) and Nov. 4. So, he doesn't HAVE to vote the primary. But.. I'm gonna cut him off from his grandparents' bounty money (some stocks cash my bro and I are finally selling) if he doesn't vote. It's also LAZY thinking.

EASY thinking and conclusions. Again, the "wicked" problem. Defined as:

Awful, isn't it? Solving global warming, solving the "isms," (you mentioned women's rights among Arab countries) poverty, ignorance, education, inequality, cleaning the planet, saving endangered species, food and good, basic lives for everyone. (clean water, electricity, healthcare, housing for all).

In first-world countries there are have nots. It is embarrassing to me that America cannot solve homelessness, housing, drug addiction care and healthcare for all. With all our money, these wicked problems persist.

Jesus said, "The poor will always be with us." Poor NEVER means IMPOVERISHED. Poor means, those that have less than the rich. The poor should have food, housing, clothes, healthcare. But here, this isn't even the case!

We send billions to other countries, yet cannot solve our own problems!!! Wicked, isn't it? Love and kisses to you and peace...

Alright thanks for explaining @Screenwriter. I was under the impression you were much younger. Also the screen name “screenwriter” made me believe you are involved with entertiaent and movies. I’m very familiar with that crowd after living in SoCal for many years. 95% of the time I can almost predict exactly how they would respond to political situations like this.

Anyway does your son even have a job? If he does, is it meaningless and does it challenge him?

I haven’t taken money from family since college which was 20 years ago for me. I did live at home briefly right after college and again when I was in career transition in my 30s. But I never took money. I was raised in a very hard core “get off your ass and work!” conservative family.

It is true that things have gotten a lot tougher economically for younger generations (thanks Biden for making this worse with inflation). But that is NOT an excuse to be a full time crybaby protestor. No and hell no.

@blueonblack22 Come on. Biden didn't create inflation, just like he can't create jobs. Covid has been the monkeywrench that's lead to recent inflation. Pandemics. Another wicked problem. Prices are market driven and when there is a shortage, prices go up. There have been many shortages. And getting workers for the simplest jobs have been tough. Firms have to pay more. And there is that living wage thing. We don't have good living wages. Consider all these factors.

My son is an audio tech studying to get his journeyman's electrician license. He liked working in music industry, has done some film audio, but these jobs are gig work. I give him some dollars hither and yon because my parents were always generous with me, even long after I was married. They'd go gambling, win 1K and give me and my brother a couple of hundred dollars. We never asked for it. But it was nice to get. I try to be as kind to him.

There are some months where he does side hustles of electrical work, landscape work, minor plumbing, when he doesn't have audio work. In August he didn't work for three weeks, except for side jobs. I believe it's finally dawned on him he needs a straight job to support what he likes to do. I pressed him to do electrical work four years ago. But maturity comes at its own pace.

I have no problem with giving him what I can spare. Can't spare that much. But several hundred will appear from my dead parents' stocks sales. Last of our inheritance from them. So, I toss him a few.

Sometimes he's asked. And I give. When I say a few, I'm talking 20 or 40 dollars. With this last money, I hope to give him $100 because I know he's been short with work. He's my only child, so it's not like I have to share it with his sibling and I want him to get a much as possible from me while I'm alive. He's not lazy, so that's a good thing.

I'm talked to him about a good work ethic and I believe he has one. He's had problems with getting to work on time and lost a job because of it. Has severe ADHD and has trouble waking up, even with several alarms. But he appears to be doing better with this. As an future electrician, when he makes appointments, it will be paramount to show up for 8 when he says he'll show, or he won't have jobs, or recommendations on yahoo and google. I keep being a parent consultant. It's all I can do, besides win the lottery and set up a trust fund for him.

Look, I'm from a moderate family. Socially liberal, moderate elsewhere.

Do NOT defend Biden right now. Hamas militants were seen with advanced American made guns and weapons that came from nowhere else but Afghanistan. Who is was chiefly responsible for the exponential f*ck up? Biden was giving Iran 6 billion dollars (of f*cking taxpayer money) and what country has been accused of funding Hamas? Iran verbally openly supported what Hamas did on Oct 6th.

Yes I know the funds to Iran are “frozen” right now in Qatar. Also I know Biden did the right thing with backing Israel and sending American naval power to the Mediterranean Sea on standby.

But I wonder if Biden really wanted to do this or he’s just doing it because if he doesn’t then he’s all but guaranteed to lose the 2024 election? But at least he made the right decision this time vs catering to the radical left all the time like he’s done most of his term.

And we already got in a long debate about inflation. Inflation started going up shortly after Biden took office. It was his dumbass decision to kill domestic oil production which skyrocketed energy costs which directly contributed to skyrocketing inflation. He also passed that pos giant oxymoron “inflation reduction act” were we Americans are spending trillions in tax dollars we don’t need nor can afford. It was HIS decision to keep funding the Russo Ukraine war not only military equipment but cold hard tax payer cash to help THEIR economy (what about ours?).

No, there always seems to be violent conflicts throughout the world at any given time. Now if nukes become used regularly to fight in wars, then I might believe the end of the world is coming.

No the end of the world isn’t common. Russia just issued a cease fire today.

But as for the Israel/Palestine conflict. I’ve always gotten two very biased viewpoints on this. It’s something I’m very uneducated about so I never took a side.

But Hamas did intentionally target innocent civilians with this extremely heinous and cowardly terrorist attack. I never heard of Israel planning out and mass attack that intentionally target civilians. There is colateral damage with military strikes i. e. accidentally killing civilians because of bad intel. But never heard of the Israeli military intentionally planning and attacking large groups of innocent civilians.

It's just a way for rich people to get richer and to wipe more people off the earth.

The main thing I learned during my time in the military is that most wars are manufactured to make the 'elite' richer. Governments, and by extension, military are just pawns for these phsycopaths to play with. It always is and always will be about making money

There is no way you can approach the Israeli border without being seen. The amount of surveillance tech they have there is immense! Was definitely a 'this will be a good reason to go to war' situation.

Democrats like war. “War is good for business”, if you’re the government. It’s bad for actual businesses. Can’t sell shit to dead bodies. That’s why Republicans defunded the shit out of the government in the 80s and privatized every “war” since then. We also haven’t had a draft. We fight these “wars” because other nations don’t want to lay down their arms.

This is why I’m not religious because one of element has been violence. Which contradicts a lot of their way of thinking of living in peace and harmony.

So you mean to tell me because one group doesn’t accept that another group worships a different god they’re gonna kill them for it? Bunch of stupid cave men tbh

Israel has NEVER gone to war except in self defense. The fault is entirely on the barbaric war mongering Muslim countries that surround them.

Israel attacks based on their religious beliefs? What religious beliefs? 20% of Israeli citizens are ARABS. Unlike that Arab and Persian countries who murdered and expelled millions of Jews from THEIR countries so that virtually no Jews remain there today, Jews who lived there since antiquity, Israel WELCOMES people of ANY religion including Muslims. Their Arab citizens have the exact same rights as any other citizens including the right to vote and hold political office -- and many of them do. They live a much freer life than they did in the Arab countries they came from.

In 1995 there were 1 million Arabs living in Israel. Now there over 2 million. Israel WELCOMES anyone who wants to live there IN PEACE. They DO NOT welcome terrorists and barbarians who chant "Death to Israel" and murder them for their religions beliefs.

It is incredibly IGNORANT to equate Israel and the Jewish people with the Muslims who DO attack the Jews solely on the basis of their religion. Incredibly ignorant. Jews DO NOT, WOULD NOT and HAVE NEVER done such a thing.

Unlike the Muslim countries which surround them, there is 100% complete religious freedom in Israel. You are free to practice any religion you wish without persecution of any kind. Jews, Muslims and Christins all have 100% freedom to practice their religion in peace they way they choose and have full citizenship rights. All religions are respected provided they practice them in peace and not violence. Israel has ALWAYS been that way since it's founding as a country.

I’m talking about the aggressors. Not the people of Israel.

There’s footage of them chanting religious phrases of muslim faith “a la akhbar” as they are carrying out violent acts

That’s “praise be to god” if I’m not mistaken

Yes, well that's what Muslim terrorists have been doing all over the world for decades. They murder innocent people in the name of "God." Jews don't do that. They stories that they do are LIES pushed by Muslims and anti-Semites.

Maybe for them it is. They haven’t given me a reason to care over here in the states. Their own fault. Keep importing dark complexioned foreigners from Africa, Middle East, and South America who don’t give a shit or don’t like Israel, of course they’re going to lose support. Democrats are stupid for letting them immigrate here, so are Republicans for hiring them. But, melting pot bull shit. Whatever.

Had I been younger, I would have sided with Hamas, but not anymore. Hamas and Hezbollah have no legitimate authority on Palestine. They are not elected and they are just playing with fire as a puppet to Iran and others in the Arab world. Israeli people need their own land too. The Palestinians sold their lands and Jews bought them fair and square. It's like someone selling his entire country and then cry that the purchaser kicked him out.
Let's face it, I am not in for popularity vote or anything but Israel is only 1 Jew country and Muslim politicians keep babling that your kid cried at night, it was Israel, sleep little baby or Jews will eat you, your dog died because of Jews, your business isn't working, it's Jews fault, your police is corrupt because of Jews.

They are not really the enemy. They will treated so unfairly during holocaust next to Gypsies and again everyone hates them.

No one wants to clean their own house. Muslims fight Muslims and usurp their lands and no one talks about it.

Just a script to keep people divided based on religion.

Israel and real Palestinians are supposed to be brothers. Muslims live in Israel too

You forgot to mention that Ukraine has been receiving tons of weapons, funds and training from NATO, yet the prospects for Ukraine to win are dim, to put it mildly.

On the other hand, every serious military analyst would tell you that Israel couldn't win a war against Iran or Turkey without nukes plus US direct support.
