Russia's only dog in that one is they hope it'll reduce American support for Ukraine in favor of Israel and/or deplete our stockpiles faster, though in that case, it benefits China more than anyone else. It's not going to influence whether or not nuclear weapons are deployed, but the odds are very low that anything more than a dirty bomb or tactical nuke is even being considered.
Iran is involved and anyone who says otherwise is either lying, or a moron. Hamas is reliant on them and dumbass western activists and relief aid to fund their operations, Hezbollah is basically a paramilitary arm of the Iranian equivalent of the CIA, and another one of their proxies is responsible for firing those missiles over the red sea out of Yemen. The entire premise for the Abraham Accords was signatory countries acknowledging that Iranian-backed terrorist groups are the biggest and most widespread threat in the middle east... which has been true for decades, and is painfully obvious now. The problem that alliance is running into however, is they (or at least the crucial member Saudi Arabia) basically want a commitment from the US to invade Iran if things escalate, which the US doesn't want to do for a lot of reasons, first and foremost because that would be the most likely scenario to drag China into open conflict. China on the other hand also does not want to be directly involved until the US spends and spreads itself too thinly to even think about protecting Taiwan, which, if you compare the rhetoric to action, it seems highly probable that a huge chunk of US politicians and bureaucrats are in active denial of the threat China poses and would happily just let China seize it so long as "supply lines are reopened as soon as possible."
Yes, I believe Iran is probably the biggest threat, and I believe they could get to a point of just not even caring anymore what the U. S. or what the rest of the world thinks and will start doing what they want.
So my viewpoint is this, which I know is controversial and I know that many people who are not believers or at least don't really care about God aren't really considering, but I do think there are major elements of the Bible in the Israel situation with their neighbors. Several passages talk about how they will always be at war with their neighbors - which we've seen, and this passage in Zechariah 12:2-3 indicates that there WILL be nations that do go into Israel, but will apparently pay a price: "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it."

There is no big plan. Is Iran involved? Yes, most likely they are. Will this create a WW3? I don't think so. If Ukraine didn't trigger it, Israel surely won't either. If the countries around Israel decide to attack, there will be a lot of death on all sides involved. However, I do believe it will end with Israel winning. It's not just the IDF; it's the people who fight in it. When one side fights out of hatred and the other fights to protect their kids, their friends, their family, their babies, it makes a difference.
Any Israeli soldier simply has more motivation to fight than any of them combined. When you put that on the battlefield, and a fighter gets a moment to think, to consider, to dream, one side knows that if they falter, everything they care about is destroyed. The other side knows if they falter, if they surrender, if they choose not to fight, they get good treatment and return home in the end. This is why Israel keeps beating those who fight against them. Their army may be average, their gear just okay, but its people are its strength. Everyone thinks big because it's not about winning or losing; it's about living or watching everyone you care about die.
Regardless, even if a battle like that happens, many of the countries around are not going to get involved in the fight. They don't have a reason to do so any more, some of them are for the most part in peace with Israel, and they only not go ahead and do an agreement or anything as it will effect them badly in at areas that are not connected to it, so its better for them not to

Russia doesn't need to use nuclear weapons in their war with Ukraine. They've already won. As to the Israel conflict, Hezbollah out of Lebanon already attacked Israel, thus that's already an expansion of the war. Arab neighbors like Saudi Arabia have already told their citizens to leave Lebanon in anticipation of an Israeli counter strike. The Kingdom of Jordan has voiced they will declare war if Palestinians are permanently displaced from Gaza or any other district. Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon already voiced that they would enter the war on the Palestinian's side if America sends troops into Israel. If you haven't noticed America is already there in the region... Afghanistan has also voiced their desire to come fight against Israel if Iran allows them passage through their territory. Now all you have to wait for is the false flag in the USA from border jumpers hired by the UN/WEF/Democrats that gives the American Democrats a reason to Declare war against "terrorist nations". It's already planned that way by the socialists. The question is will the Democrats in America fall for it and jump into the meat grinder for their socialist overlords that want to cull them or population reduction. I’m very worry about Hezbollah directly engaging. If that happens Israel will be forced to fight a two front war and they will engage their Air Force with little restraint because their military is strained. Then Iran will likely get directly involved. If that happens then the USA will get involved.

The only party agitating for a wider conflict is the United States. I expect that Israel will flatten Gaza or a good part of it, other than that the other parties will stay out of it. The US might want to try something in Syria but Russia has the carrier groups within range of hypersonic kinzhal missiles, against which there is no defense. Furthermore, Biden was pretty clear from the tone of his speech that he cares more about Ukraine than Israel, and with NATO running low on artillery rounds the USG can only do so much.
