Why are some cops so terrible?

I literally know hundreds of cops. there were a very small percentage that give the rest of the hard working public servants a bad name. Too bad these are the videos the fake news likes to show. You never see the ones where they are pulling somebody out of a burning car or rolling up at a robbery in progress when you have no idea what you are dealing with.

The simple answer is that some guys are just bullies. There probably are more bullies in the general population than in the ranks of the police community.

Some people view human beings in binary terms and do not understand that we are all complicated beings with good and bad qualities and nobody is totally good or totally bad all the time. Punishment should happen, but only in cases where real harm has been done, and people who practice petty theft or small scale crime should be fined many times what they stole and not killed or dangerously assaulted with life threatening injuries.
