I mean…. getting in religiously-based wars is a clown move, period, full stop. I’m not going to pretend to be informed enough to have a truly confident opinion on the overall Israel-Palestine conflict itself, like the whole beef over the the Gaza Strip and all that. I’m not even up to date on what’s going on. So I’d call myself neutral to that extent.

But holy fuck, man…. those Hamas attacks were about some of the foulest shit I’ve ever seen. I’m sure the Israeli government has had it’s transgressions, but Jesus Christ, what the hell did a bunch of kids at a concert do? If there was some Israeli terrorist attack where hostages were taken, women were raped, and babies were decapitated that happened previously that I’m unaware of, please fill me in. What Hamas did was savagery I can’t believe I’m even seeing in 2023. I expect that kind of shit like a thousand years ago. I saw a girl in gray sweatpants, the crotch of them soaked with blood, just getting loaded into a truck by some dude with a gun, and she clearly had just been violently raped. What. The. FUCK. You kind of just hear about rape, usually, and it’s vague, but you’re like “oof, that sucks.” Once in a blue moon you get some detailed description of how everything went down, from a public court trial to some kind of interview on TV, etc, and it’s even more ugly. But I don’t think I’ve ever been hit by something like the image of that poor woman in the bloody pants. That’s just horrific and outside the bounds of war. That’s not even terrorism, it’s barbarism. So while I don’t harbor any bad feeling towards the nation of Palestine and it’s people, it’s pretty tough to think well of Hamas right now. I think I heard their actual mission statement is to kill Jews and eradicate Israel, so obviously they’re just crazy far-right religious lunatics. But my understanding is also that Netenyahu is no saint either, so the two governments probably suck, but overall I just wish for peace for the civilians of both places. Probably not how this will shake out though.

I'm neutral since peace is the goal. But I'm more sympathetic to Palestine because I imagine how much it would suck to be born in a place like Gaza with no real hope or opportunities to make anything of your life. And because Israel has the superior infrastructure, technology, army etc. And they're using it to expand their territory.

They're doing to the Palestinians what often happend to the Jews in the past expelling them from where they lived or letting them live in an apartheid state.

But I also understand the history of the jewish people and how some people are still hating them.

Personally I don't think about this problem a lot because there's so many people with actual power who are doing nothing, or deliberately working against peace, or they tried to make peace but failed. So what is the point of me thinking about this problem that hasn't been solved in so long and still won't be in 100 years probably.

I'll just live my life as best as I can and try and have a positive impact if I can.

I am more sympathetic to Israel right now with what is going on as it is absolutely horrific and there isn’t anything that I can truly do to help. As far as both countries go I’m neutral, there are a lot of innocent people on both sides and I am not going to condemn an entire population on the actions of a handful of monsters.

Someone else said something earlier that I thought was clever. If Israel put down all their guns right now they'd all be dead by nightfall. If Hamas put all their guns down there'd be peace. I'm inclined to believe that's how it would unfold.

Its often overlooked that the Jews didn't actually take the land. It was given to them by the British Empire who took it first. Israel was created as a haven for holocaust survivors and escapees. In 1948 as soon as the British left the entire Arab world charged in to kill every Jew that was there. They never gave peace a chance. When every single one of their neighbors want to kill them just for existing you better believe they're gonna ready to fight.

That's exactly the reason why human civilization is doomed. People willing to kill other people with guns, throwing bombs or using toxic chemicals is exactly why wars will be never ending. I imagined myself becoming a soldier from childhood on because my father is a soldier aswell. But when I was old enough to be able to join.. I chose not to persue my childhood dream job and neither did I respect anyone willing kill other human beings being in the army.

To me becoming s soldier is not heroic at all. Congratulations just just became the ultimate slaves for dirty politicians hungry for power and money.
