It’s almost as if giving random civilians access to high-powered battlefield weapons is a bad idea that will lead to horrific tragedies🤔🤔🤔

One thing we seem to have lost sight of is that laws need to be designed with the worst people in mind. That does mean a few bad apples will limit what the good/neutral apples can do. I bet most of us could handle drinking a beer in the car on the way home from a long day of work, but the problem is that some idiots will take that as “cool, so eight beers must be alright too”, so as a result, none of us can drink any amount of beer while we’re driving, and we’re only allotted a certain amount in our system from beforehand before we’re deemed to be breaking the law. This does nothing to consider different people’s tolerances. My mother couldn’t metabolize alcohol normally, she had half a drink once and sideswiped a parked police car, failed her field sobriety test but passed her breathalyzer…conversely, three beers for me, a light drinker, is more than I’d be comfortable driving on, yet I know guys who drink every day who can drink three beers and hardly be buzzed. The point is, it’ll never be one-size-fits-all, and I know we don’t like a few dopes spoiling things for the rest of us, but that’s life in a civilized society.

And with guns, you can’t just allow whatever based on the fear that someone will illegally obtain a bigger gun than you can obtain legally, I mean, holy fuck, man. Where does it stop? Blackhawk helicopters? Nuclear missiles? You have to draw a line somewhere.

Its sadly lost in the blur of all of our mass shootings, but the one in Buffalo, New York a couple years ago at that supermarket….. so, I watched the bodycam footage that the shooter so kindly recorded for us…. I never imagined you could kill with such ease and speed, it blew my mind. Kid took one step out of his car, and the first women walking by, he blew HER mind, right out of her skull. It was instantaneous, and he just hip-fired. Once he started aiming, he had four more people down and dead in under five seconds, I counted. We simply cannot have non-military personnel walking around with these things, it’s just fucking preposterous.

The gunman was in the Army Reserves and is a petroleum supply specialist. That's about all that's known right now. It took place in Lewiston, which is the drug capital of Maine. I wouldn't be surprised if drugs had something to do with it. Lewiston is located about 1 hour north of Portland, Maine, 2.5 to 3 hours north of Boston.

The major problem is law enforcement is not allowed to use them. But really - as you said, guns can be purchased on street corners, even AK or AR's. How are the cops going to stop that? A store clerk can have fill out all the paperwork and then look at you and say, "You look like a decent person, here you go." Then you can walk out with it.
