The last time a high profile mass shooting happened in Canada was back in 2022. There has been 2 so far in 2026 in the US and 16 in 2025.

Gun laws aren't "super strict" as they should be in Canada. It's harder to get a gun but you'll still be able to get one if you want to. Handguns aren't allowed outside of shooting clubs. Automatic rifles are forbidden (because why the fuck would anyone need to have that?). But anyone with a standard firearm licence can buy a SKS or another sort of semi-automatic rifle: that's just as efficient as a handgun if your twisted psychopathic goal is to shoot as many people as you can in a school.

And there's also the fact that most Canadians have easier access to quality education and healthcare; that society is less sick, unequal and desperate than it is in the US.

It’s the mentally ill people who are responsible for the mass shootings, stabbings, the people who use a car and plow through a crowd of people.

As for the number of shootings in Canada verses the U. S. we literally have 5+ times the population. That’s 5 times the crazies!
You want to stop school shootings?
Have armed security officers in the schools. Any teacher or admin in the schools who are willing and capable of carrying in school, should carry. This will deter a shooter from going into the school. We don’t have mass shooting in bars (normally the owner has a gun), we don’t have mass shooting in banks, most federal building has armed security…. No shootings there. Why do we not protect our children as well as we protect federal workers and our money in banks?

The "guns don't kill, people do" bullshit is fallacious. Sure, you can commit a mass murder with pretty much any weapon, but the easiest, loudest and most efficient weapon to use will always be a gun.
