They found killer in Maine dead, self gun shot. Is that better or should they have found him to put on trial to do same?

He would have probably just been sentenced to death anyways for capital murder. Doesn’t really matter either way as long as the world is rid of him.

It turned out he was just a sad, disturbed man looking for his 15 minutes of fame. And then he killed himself.

Not really. He was in army reserves. He checked himself in a mental hospital because he heard voices and 2 weeks later or 2 weeks ago, (either one), he checked himself out. Then went and shot up a bowling alley killing teenagers and adults plus a bar.

In Ye Olde Days, he might have been publicly tortured and executed. THAT might have evoked some satisfaction.
