The elections in KY, VA and OH are clear indicators that abortion is NOT a winning issue for the GOP. Obviously, a significant number of conservative Republicans voted to preserve a woman's right to choose. When will the GOP start focusing on other issues before it's too late?

I've been voting Republican for forty years. Most of that time I've been saying exactly the same thing. They seriously need to shut the hell up about abortion. Politically it's a losing issue for them. It gains them nothing, but loses them lots of votes.

Both major parties need to stop catering to the fringe. In the past, the key to winning was to appeal to the middle, which ultimately determines the outcome of elections. But both parties have gotten away from that. Instead of going after the middle, they rely on voter turnout on the far left and far right. It leaves the middle disenfranchised and causes more division.
