Yes, WW I officially ended at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, which we now celebrate a Veterans or Remembrance Day, depending on where you are.

  Winston Churchill is often quoted as having said (supposedly paraphrasing Orwell) “We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.” I really enjoy that quote as it sums it up.
