No, l love the government here. They really take good care of the citizens, especially the elderly and those from low income families. The ministers here help me when I was in difficulty. I am so grateful to them and even emailed them to thank them profusely.
But hypothetically if there was an issue you cared about and wanted to government to address it somehow would you take part in a protest?
Singapore right?
well you're following me now so i can see it lol.
and anyways sometimes people don't put their real country they live in up there for privacy reasons so wanted to confirm.
lol its cool i just wondered. your political process is different from the u. s. a bit.
I mean we don’t seem to have as direct access to our politicians here as you seem to have.
Don't really have them here, you've got to travel at least 2 hours before you'll get to the occasional rare one. Recently there have been a few against the new 20mph speed limit, I got as far as signing the senedd petition and there was one against asylum seekers being put in a hotel. That one was hilarious because one guy when asked by the BBC about it said it was great because there were nice cakes and biscuits. But no I've never been to one, I just can't be arsed and they rarely work.
No... lol, I am a job, a mortgage and a family.
I do not have time for this foolishness.
Seems like a waste of time.. For people to feel like heroes for a cause..

Yes, "L-O-V-E, that's what makes a FAMILY!" Advocating the right for any adults to marry each other.
Yeah the march i took part in was gay marriage advocacy. it was fun and interesting.
Many... but this the only thing, except voting, i can do... in my country i can't enter the parlament and shoot down idiots who sit there...
lol well we can't either even though people on the far right here think they can smh
What a shame. Maybe if we could, they would behave more... rationally :D
I have, at the start of this year. There was a protest rally in the capitol of NZ for strippers rights, which I attended.
interesting so how did that go? do you feel like your voices were heard?
It went really well, I only attended the first protest, there were a few other protests months later aswell as a petition started, a lot of progress has been made. A few stripping places have changed their policies around wages, fees etc, and it’s great so far. Still a long way to go but progress has been made so far and that’s what matters.
nice. so in your opinion do you view protests as effective at A) having your voices heard on important issues and B) getting your politicians to bring about change that you want through legislation?
I do view protests as effective for having our voices heard on important issues, but I don’t view protests as for-sure ways to get politicians to make changes. Protests here have never changed much with politics. Protesting for strippers rights was more so a cry for having stripping businesses change their policies and rules, it had nothing to do with the law, as stripping and sex work in general is completely legal here.
My brain argued that you said "taken apart in a protest before"... as in... saw trap... live or die.
But honestly, I wouldn't. I literally better things to do and not a lot of time to do 'em.
No, I haven't. I'm a foreigner where I live, so I feel that I have no right to protest. The natives do.
Plus, I feel that something could go wrong and I wouldn't want to be there to witness it.
My dad had my very pregnant mother out in the Rodney king riots in 1992 so apparently I’ve been protesting since I was in utero 😂
I have not. But if there was something that I felt strongly enough about, I would partake in one.
Frankly I'm too centralist to care THAT much on one issue. Everything I support I also don't support just as much lmao
I did many times in my school years.
How did they go? did you feel like you were heard?
No not really. But I tried and that's the important thing!!
How do you feel about protests generally?
I felt like it was my duty to take part in them but I wasn't really convinced it would make a difference!!
Not since college. Where I went people protested at the drop of a hat.
Protesting is like masturbating. All the feeling of being a violent mob and none of the reality of being one.
No I have better things to do with my time
No. Have u?
