I would not worry about it.

Let's think this through...

Americans, for the most part, aren't very smart and think the rest of the world thinks like America.

So, for instance, "politically motivated"... This nation has less than 350 x 10^6 people. This world has 8 x 10^9 people. So, this means 350/8000=4.375% of the world's people live in America. Why is this relevant? The politics of America directly affects 4.375% of the world's population. The remaining 95.625% for the most part don't give a shit about American politics.

The World Health Organization is just that... It's about world health not American politics.

And you know why?

Because lethal viruses do not give a fuck about the passports of their victims or their victims religion or wealth or politics. Nature will kill you equally effectively whether you are American or not, Republican or Democrat, Christian, Muslim, or Jew or whatever.

Remember that: Nature does not give a shit about you. So, if you want to survive, you need to get your head out of your ass and understand reality. Science is your best tool for doing that... and the WHO is a major arm of medical science and their results are shared with the world... American or not, Republican or Democrat, Christian, Muslim, or Jew or whatever.

i believe they are about as reliable a source as you can look for. i mean we have to simply look at all sources of information with a keen eye to any agenda/bias/etc they may have. working in healthcare as a researcher we certainly consider the opinions of WHO but tend to rely more on the research and publications of the academics. that said WHO is a valuable resource because of the scope of their mission. there are not many outlets that consider the entire world in their work and have the reach to pull information and data on a global scale.
