British museum declares a Roman Emperor was a "she". Thoughts?

British museum in Hertfordshire, declared that Roman emperor Elagabalus was a transgender, and would start to refer to him as "she" in their exhibitions. It is based on a chronic by Cassius Dio who called Elagabalus "wife, mistress and queen".

Critics point out that Dio was a servant of Elagabalus successor - Severus Alexander, and might wanted to discredit former emperor, who was famous for being ruthless and eventually assasinated.
