One thing I've learn is people hate thruth tellers. I had always been a honest person when people ask fornmy help and advise I say what it needs to be done amd what is the issue. One of my old frieds from high school called me about if I could let her borrow some money because she was running behind payments then she went on how money is short went on blaming inflation. I was completely honest to her. I told her well lets see we graduated high school at the same time same year we both had 24 hours per day and same 7 days per week. In her younger years I would cover her shifts I was working her while she went out partying. I went on hownshebwould over spend money on expensive boutiques that was completely useless. How she over spend $600 on that stupid prom dress. In this case her financial situation its her own fault I told her she should consider downsides her house. Her financial situation is her own fault what has she done in al this 13 since we graduated other then making stupid financia choices. Well she didn't takenvery well apparently she thinks I just got lucky for becoming financially successful that its just easy for me to just run my Karen mouth. She ask for help then gets mad at me she assumes life has just being assey for me how the rich become rich everyday and poor becme more poor. I didn't appreciate her comment. Now she is worming at wendysba secound job to pay off her credit card. This is what I've said it her own fault she choose to become a looser. She made fun of me because of my $12 prom dress now I will be making fun of her situation.

I completely agree with you. When I was 30 I'd have said the same. Then in the last 20 years I've had to deal with losing my health, my home, my health again, my wife's health, fertility issues, mental health issues, more fertility issues but finally aged 46 getting a son. Within a year I'd injured my foot and the hospital screwed up so badly I ended up in hospital for the foot where I caught Covid and almost died. After 3 months in a coma I woke up. Two weeks later I had to have my leg amputated.

Not everyone gets up early. You're right. But anyone can lose their health and everything they've built with their hard work in a heartbeat.

I'm not judging you or anyone else. Just take my experience as a cautionary tale.

In my case, most of my friends are well off because either their parents are rich or their husbands are rich or both.
In my case I’m neither of those but still I work hard. Sometimes people can’t land a good job, like in my case I am working in a great institution with benefits and all but salary compare to my friends is not much and so benefits. I am hard worker and smart but for some reason I screw in interviews then I don’t get the job, my salary doesn’t change much and so on

I mean to be fair wages have not kept up with inflation for roughly the last 40 years. The constant influx of illegal immigrants over the last several decades has also not made things easier. Not everything in this area boils down to bad decision making. However most of it does. Rather than spending less and living more modestly many of the millennials have felt entitled to a certain lifestyle and have driven themselves into the ground financially trying to maintain a lifestyle they can’t afford. All while running up credit cards and not saving much if anything.

Now I believe we are in for huge economic hardships. They were already flirting with disaster long before this inflation problem. Most of the people that are in these situations did it to themselves.

I dont even own a credit card I now I do qualify I just make the choice not to because it creates dept. People stop on the way towork to get coffee when its cheaper to it at home. I have credit cards but a $0 balance on all of them. I actually have to use them sometimes just so they don’t get shut off. I consider them back ups to my savings. If I can’t buy it cash I don’t buy it, except for really big purchases like my house or truck.

You are right though. Lots of people spending on expensive items they can’t afford. Lots of people thinking $15 even $20 an hour is gonna pay the bills. Even $20 an hour these days is barely gonna get you by if you’re single and don’t have additional house hold income.
