Are toxic people mostly boomers?

I try not to be bigoted against a certain group and this certainly is. I’m saying all boomers are toxic. But there is evidence of this…

I notice both my in laws and my parents are very similar. They are all boomers.

Prone to angry out burts and put downs. Utilize guilt and fear to obtain respect and obedience. They NEVER apologize. Always blaming someone else when something doesn't go right but expecting praise when things are successful. To them, if their kid (i. e. me) makes a mistake, I'm shameful and need to be accountable. But when I do well, it's "you owe me for all the sacrifices I made for you". They are very unable to adapt to changing environments. Slightest change- new grandchild, me going on travel for my job... they get really anxious and claim I'm "stressing them out".

Me having my own independent family is a severe threat to both our parents. I have no financial dependence on either side. I've consequently estranged myself from one set of parents due to their negativity towards me and my children. My voluntary estrangement has even resulted in death threats from them, who wonder why I don't want to talk to them

Geez... I wonder WHY?

Strangely enough, I'm lucky to still have one grandparent alive from the great generation. He's 91 and still enjoying life.

So somewhere along the line boomers got screwed up.

My work place is remarkably diverse. We have everything from 18 - 60yr olds. Gay, straight, and everything in between. Male & female. All races. Multiple religions. The people we all kind of know to be toxic cover a wide spectrum of this diversity and no single group can be crowned as the leader of toxicity. If anything, collectively, we have the hardest time with the 20-25yr olds who seem to have a lot of drama between themselves and, odd to me, much of it seems fueled or contributed by social media. Yet, I still can’t call an entire generation toxic as that’s just to broad a brush to paint any demographic with.

I watched a video about how there are only 4 types of generations and they repeat themselves in order. Gen Alpha are gonna be the new boomers. And I can tell you from having boomer parents and gen alpha kids. They are both very entitled and toxic to be around

The boomer policies were the ones that ruined the country, especially with the sexual revolution and roe vs Wade, I would say they were quite deluded and permissive.
