So, the Irish government responds to unpopular speech by decreeing it a crime, and to Elon Musk's criticism by "examining the possibility of silencing social media". I mean, it's not like the Irish people have ever been forced by the government to only say approved things, which excluded their entire language. Then again, given how deep they dove into Covid madness...
It's kind of funny, really; Ireland is the one country I CAN'T criticize for failing to learn from its history of brutal suppression, oppression, and repression, because if a thing isn't sufficiently pointlessly tragic, it's just not Irish, is it?
Belfast, however, is in a different country- but heaven forbid you criticize the UK, I guess. Gotta find all the "far-right" people that you can! As to the Irish- ain't nobody stoppin' you from having more kids, ya lazy bastards. Or- here's a crazy idea- run for office yourself and change the standing policies. That whole "self-governance" thing that your ancestors bled and died for for seven hundred years.
Bad public policy to force a civilian population that fought Britain out to force that same civilian population to fight for their country once again.
There are local elections in about 6 months and a national election in a year and a quarter. It is proportional representation by multi member seat in what looks like a Hare Clerk ballot. The Presidency is ceremonial. Their senate is unrepresentative swill quaintly elected by university graduates but it really only has the power to delay apparently. So effectively it is unicameral.
I think we can expect another right wing tidal wave as the left will like to put it and if that doesn't fix it another time of troubles
Not that I would like to see that but I would not tolerate the radical left in Ireland.
I don’t approve of hate speeches. I feel very sorry for refugees and illegal immigrants. While there’s no excuse for hate speeches or racism, I do think since you’re asking me, that refugees and illegal immigrants are taking up a lot of our housing and jobs, so there are definite advantages to not letting everyone in.
@Juxtapose that’s true

I think all (all) immigration should be halted except where applicants can make America better by educational credentialing or provable skills and under sponsorship. And any legal immigrant and their family should be deported back to their home country if any of them are convicted of a felony.
I think we need to halt immigration of skilled labor too. It suppressed the cost of labor and creates layoff risk for our skilled workers. It also results in brain drain from the countries losing these migrants, leaving them mired in poverty due to lack of competence. It’s simply not necessary and does harm.
Has anyone ever wondered why this is happening on 2 continents? Why it’s happening both in N. America and Europe? Doesn’t appear to be accidental or coincidental.
I do t know much about the situation in Ireland. My guess is they’re as fed up with this as many people in America are.
More Replacement conspiracy theory bullshit, yawn. -___- Now, you can tell me how Jewish people are responsible for it again this time?
What solutions do you have for this? Oh, wait, I know, create an ethnostate Japan because Japanese birth is not declining, right? I mean, that'll work because it works for Japan, too, right?
The Irish government has announced 1 million immigrants in the next 10 years and there were 140,000 immigrants in 2022 in a country with a population of 5 million.
Israel doesn't won't let Arabs immigrate. The Japanese birth rate problem is due to high taxes, high property prices and low wages.
@drewtate On the one hand we’re told replacement-level migration is a “conspiracy theory,” but on the other that the migration is a good thing. In the case of Ireland the numbers are stark and there is no question the native population will be overwhelmed in a matter of a few generations.
@RealMarek 40% in 10 years is unprecedented anywhere in the world.
@RealMarek the roman lands the goths, vandals, franks, lombards and the rest took over were basically empty due to centuries of depopulation brought on by civil wars & pandemics.
This is just really fucking sad. I'm actually very angry at the people in charge over there for allowing it to come to this. As if Irish people haven't faced enough troubles over the years. Now they're being genocided by their own guests (as well as the cucks within their own ranks.)
As a person of Irish descent myself, I am embarrassed but also outraged. What a hot fucking mess. What a disaster.
I think they have every right to be pissed. You'd think the left would be against this because the Irish are the indigenous people of Ireland but they are white so I guess they don't care if their home and culture gets completely taken over.
Man they sound more sjw than even Britain!
Hate speech laws are an abomination and this is proof.
Ireland finally developed a robust economy that helped end the violence that had plagued it for decades. Now they let in millions of illegal aliens and it almost looks like the old Sein Fein days.
good contrast. the brit interpreted using his bias against irish enemy. but irish get killed, and "lives matter".
I hope the 40% increase of the Irish population is just long-haired, big-breasted Irish lasses !!!
Good for the Irish and fuck the Irish government.
