Have you ever stolen?
though people steal in interesting ways...
Ya. When I was a kid, my mother was a kleptomaniac. She taught me to steal, how to identify a good opportunity, how to distract people's attention. It started off with really stupid things like taking $40 from my dad's wallet. Which I only did once because even though she was practically forcing me to do it, I really have something against taking from family and friends.
When my parents got divorced, she did terrible things to my father. Many people here would not believe the full story. When she found out I had been honest in court in a failed attempt to protect his name, she cut me off. Never brought food home, always took my little brother out of the house to eat, or to one of her friends houses.
So I used to go to stores and come up with ways to sneak things out. I became very good at using my body to block what my hands were doing from the cameras. If I needed something expensive I would buy something that I knew would set off the alarm, scan it myself so the cashier never got the chance to wave it over the magnet thing and then I'd just hold up what I bought and wave to the cashier when the alarm tripped with the expensive thing in my jacket. Sell it to some rich kid at my school.
Then I started noticing certain kids were just stuffing their cash inside their backpacks. So what do you think I did whenever I saw them unattended?
Some of my friends used to invite me over for dinner when they started to understand what my life was like. This was a huge deal because the divorce gave my biracial family a very bad reputation in a small town that had very few minorities. So when my friends were broke and wanted something, it was only natural I'd get them that stick of gum, that lighter right in front of the cashier, the graygoose for when we had girls coming to hang out with us.
I didn't have an iPhone, I didn't have nice things like the people I grew up around did. I didn't even really have parents or food in the kitchen.
After a while, I got old enough to get a job and I didn't need to steal so much anymore. I developed an affinity for the adrenaline rush and challenge of doing it but I pretty much kicked stealing when I was 17.
Yeah, very petty stuff. The first time, I didn't know I was stealing. I just found a hidden stash of records in a store and thought they were throwing them away so, I took them.
A few years later, one of my friends dared me to steal a 5c pack of chewing gum.
Another 10 years later, I was at a record store and was looking at some incense, too. The shop owner left the thin packs (about 10 sticks in plastic wrap) on the counter and was trying to find a record for me and I noticed that I could probably slip one of those incense packs up my coat sleeve while he was even standing right there looking at me so, I tried it. He never caught me and I INTENDED to give it back before I left the store but I walked out with it in my sleeve. I doubt he lost more than a quarter in the deal.
And, one night, I was raiding the dumpster of a local record distributor that I discovered, throws away HUNDREDS of brand new records every week and noticed that their back door wasn't completely closed! So, I went in to investigate and see if someone was trying to rob the place. Nobody was there. So, before I left, I looked at some of the records they had on the shelves and saw that some of them were Beatles records that had just been released for use in jukeboxes only so, I figured, I wanna grab some of these before they pitch them and somebody else gets them before I do! So, I took a dozen or so of each record. They had thousands more of each one so, they'd never miss what I took.
Yeah when I was a kid over 20 years ago. We were broke and had no money. So often times we had no food. I would sometimes go to the petrol station and steal. I know one of the workers saw me do it, but they never said anything. I did stop when I finally seen the CCTV I haven't stolen a thing since than
yeah... I've stole a lot growing up lol
sometimes get reminded of it at stores like walgreens and kinda feel like doing it to see how i'd do now days. it's dumb so i don't tho

Some gum when I was like single digit years old. But got caught because my dumbass was eating it on the car ride home. 🤣 My sister snitched on me. Had to go back to Walmart, give the gum back & apologize for stealing. And I've never stolen from a store since. I'm clean.
Yes, I was a very bad girl at one time. I don't steal, or lie now though. The one exception is to lie to protect my safety.
It? ๐ I don't think there are enough characters. Mostly makeup when I was a young teen. Oh and I once stole an antique statue, it was begging to be stolen as it was outside. I regret it all now, of course.
As in actually stolen from a Store?
I don't think I ever quite had the courage , many of my friends did , I was involved but I can't recall that I ever actually did myself?
However , technically say stealing could be taking a pen or a stapler from work , I've sure done some stuff like that.
Yeah, it's all stealing but I'm not judging you, I was way worse ๐ I am a changed woman now though.
@Chandelier8
Just to give an example , my boss , I worked in a well know sports store I was about 20 ,
When the tracksuit orders would come in from Puma , every 3rd or 4th order , he'd ring up and say the order was short by 1x XL in whatever colour ( his size ) ..
Of course that Tracksuit , when it arrived , never went into stock , it went with him ; free.
i was really young. but i used to like biting into these rainbow erasers at the boring store that my parents dragged me to. i eventually got caught and my parents paid for the erasers that were half bitten. i must've been really young because they left me alone to do this and i could've been taken and they wouldn't have known.
yes, when my kids were little they were going through diapers like crazy. When we would go to the supermarket I would put two boxes of Pampers in the rack under the shopping cart. Most of the time the cashier would not see them and I would just walk out with them.
Of course. But I only steal from companies / corporations. Not from people. That is my policy. To a person, anything that might be stolen from them probably has personal importance to them. To a company it is just a tool for making money. And in the case of bigger, nastier companies, it is practically an ethical imperative to steal from them as it is hitting them in the only place that can hurt them: their wallets.
When I was a kid I took some candy at Wal-mart. Picked it up, pretended I was going to the bathroom. The candy went in with me but never came back out. Threw the wrapping in the trash can in the bathroom. Never got caught but knew I had to stop before I did.
Pack of Fruit Stripe bubblegum from the store when I was five. Got caught. Parents forced me to walk through store with store manager while he lectured me and asked how I would feel if he came over and stole all my toys. I didn't really want to steal, I just wanted the gum.
When I was a li'l girl, I used to just grab toys in a store and claim them as mine.
More often, I'd open candies and just eat 'em.
I embarrassed my mom so many times. :(
Sorry mom! <3
Piracy excluded, yes but I was very young and didn't know better. Added a few marbles of a loaned collection to my own when I was 3. But very quickly grew out of that as my moral system began developing.
i saw a brat in my class steal, i felt horrible... and confused if i should squeel... i decided nobody would believe me anyway. i was never even tempted to steal. i had different temptation instead.
I stole a bunch of things (mostly candy) from my parents' pantry as a kid when I wasn't supposed to if that counts lol. But other than that I've never stolen anything.
People say I've stolen virginities... they were more like gifts.
only smiles... and laughs
from girls that didn't want to, lol
other than that, no... never
accidentally and I was 8
We were at a theme park and I wanted to get a small jungle themed notebook so I picked it up and ran over to my parents to ask. They walked me back and paid for the notebook.
Yes, Some Guava's from someone else's Garden, wanted to eat them.. 😂I was a kid 🤣 😔But then I felt guilty and I stopped!..😔
I'm pretty sure you have stolen some men's hearts before, knowingly or unknowingly 😂😜
Yep, I think I've done some of the interesting ways too
yea used to a lot, stopped at 19-20
would mainly steal money, but sometimes jewelry, makeup and food
Nops never... i would prefer to ask for it than stealing
I never stole from people but I used to steal booze and tobacco from the supermarkets and Sav-On
Yes once. It was a complete accident. I forgot to take a can of deodorant out of the trolley and it got buried under the stuff I payed for. I did feel bad about it. And paid a bit extra next time I went. As I was to anxious to say anything.
Never stole anything in my life, i'm not a thief...
Damn, you all make me feel so guilty now. Mom mom stole things in front of me, that's my excuse. I changed when I learned better though.
My mom*
@Chandelier8 if you have changed than don't feel guilty about it anymore, no one is born perfect, it's true that i haven't stolen anything in my life but i made mistakes in other places in my life and i don't feel guilty because these mistakes made me become someone better in life and once i correct my mistakes, i haven't done them again!
What matters is that we learn from our mistakes!
That's true
