Sometimes people make a big deal over little things because they're actually upset about something bigger, but not addressing it. It also could be boredom due to not being busy enough. Another one could be that they feel it's expected of them.

Depends on what it is, but it could be plenty of things.

Because sometimes little things to you or me may be big to someone else. Not to mention a lot of little things are what lead to bigger things.
