Why are American so angry?

I think it has to do with crooked politicians, income inequality, and a flawed economic system that is wildly unpredictable and is tilted toward enriching the rich.

Well, 7 years of crooked politics policies. One isn't going to hurt the middle class but damn it to hell the son-of-bitch done did so. High cost of gas, High cost of milk, etc. One broke the rules as a politician and nearly cost the life's of many other politicians plus that person was impeached twice while in office now something isn't right in Denmark.

They are sick of watching their country get sold piece by piece. They are sick of seeing their rights erode by the day. They re sick of seeing millions of criminals stream into their country and they are sick of having to pay for everything for them while our veterans are sleeping on the streets and elderly American citizens lose their homes. They are sick of seeing their streets being taken over by criminals who when arrested just get turned loose. And they are sick of going to the supermarket and paying twice as much for everything than they did just 3 short years ago.

Everybody I know and work with is pretty chill and easy going. I see angsty college kids on the news all the time... the rando uppity "Karen" of the week or whatever. Most people are in a pretty good mood. Everybody I pass is always smiling... But that doesn't make for good news. If it bleeds it leads, so show all the angry shite first.

You are partially right, but it's not so much income inequality as income insufficiency. The working class has been impoverished, squeezed between automation and globalization. What do they need? Education, health care, housing, better wages. Who do they vote for? Populist demagogues who point at bogeymen -- immigrants, gays, the creatives, antifa, BLM, while cutting taxes on the wealthy, then cutting benefits for the working class.

What brings us together is eating.
