Why? Trump is charged with many crimes, all more serious than Hunter. So far they have not thrown him in handcuffs. It would be much more entertaining to have the feds show up at Mar-A-Lago and pull Trump out from between the stacks of stolen classified documents.

The subroena specified that he had to testify in a closed session and he had to do it under oath so if he lied he could be charged with perjury. James Comer said he could have the public spectacle afterwards.

They wanted a closed-door session, but your flaw is assuming that a subpoena is required for it to be closed door. Typically, a subpoena is just the tool to compel a witness to appear before congress for any number of reasons. It does not imply a closed session.

The fact that Hunter agreed to an open-door session IS willingness to comply. Jim Jordan has REFUSED to comply to ANY session, and should therefore be held in contempt.

The "public spectacle" you're afraid of is how stupid the GOP will look when Comer questions him and shows the world he has nothing. IF they had something, WHY WOULD THEY BE AFRAID of an open session? Hmmm? They have zip. This is a distraction from their inability to address real issues and actually govern, and nothing more.
