+1 yBecause to them everything is a conspiracy and flat earth is just one of those beliefs. A cigar is never just a cigar. The government is responsible for absolutely every one of their ills,. along with everyone else's. Business failed? The government did it. Wife left you? The government planned it somehow. Record setting cold snap froze your pipes? The government was behind it. Can't get a hard on? The government of course. To them the government is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent at all times. It can fool all of humanity about the shape of the world and also control the weather and space. It sees and hears all. It has spies listening to and watching both Putin's people and the unkempt, unemployed slob in his bedroom making videos about dinosaurs being a CIA inspired mythology to corral people away from the fact that the earth is really only 400 years old. Secret cabals everywhere and they know exactly where they are and who they are, from Bull Gates to Prince Charles to the Rockefellers. Some fucking secret that is.
Nothing to to do with science or evidence. It's conspiratorial mindset.

Watched one of those to one time and it seemed pretty believable, they told me in that video that I'd be able to verify it for myself by just looking at the plane flights because they would not go over certain countries.
I found that a great idea and began comparing various flight times across the world to various maps, the UN map the flat earthers consider to be truthful, the usual global maps, etc.
Guess which one is correct? This one https://flightradar24.com

I know! How anyone on this (very curvy) planet could ever possibly think it may be flat, is something I just cannot comprehend. What would it take to convince them they're actually otherwise? I'm guessing nothing could, because people like that are not open to new information, not open to the possibility they could be wrong.
I thought this was really funny when it happened. A flat-Earther designed and built his own rocket to try and "prove" the Earth is flat, but just ended up killing himself. This is how stupid they are. He could have just bought himself a plane ticket to see the curvature, or watched a ship disappear over the horizon.

but what if... the syndicate sabatoged his rocket or killed the guy, to hide he was right to prevent a video of a flat earth.

+1 yBecause they cannot wrap their heads around the mechanics of it all. Some will immediately believe a round earth is fake because if their religious beliefs.
When they hear that the earth spins at about 1,000 mph, they'll question how life and water doesn't get flung off. When they hear that the earth is about 24,000 miles in circumference and that's how we get a 24 hour day (with a 1k mph spin), it's hard to fathom. Because they can't see the curvature with their own eyes. And for some reason they all love to say only NASA is lying about it all as if they're the only space agency in the world.10 Reply

+1 yI think they are all trolls and just screwing around. I think this because you'd have to be a moron to actually believe the Earth is flat. But these people are not morons. If they had significantly below average intelligence, they would not be able to articulate the way they do. Anyone who writes those complex explanations for flat Earth is not someone with an IQ of 40, or even 70.
It's just a big game to them. It's a weird game, but still just a game. They enjoy it for whatever reason.

And sideways in Africa

But we're right-side-up everywhere
30 Reply Still around? More and more every day and only gaining traction. And the fact that there is more evidence that it being flat would make more sense. You should do some research yourself instead of just believing what they have programmed you to believe.

also if people believe round without tangible proof, how can they demand "tangible proof " before believing god? they don't really need tangible proof to believeother stuff.
this is not only about glat it is really much more philosophical of human thought.

+1 yHumans are naturally prone to certain cognitive biases, such as confirmation bias and the Dunning-Kruger effect. Confirmation bias leads people to favor information that confirms their existing beliefs and disregard or discount evidence that contradicts them. The Dunning-Kruger effect describes a situation where people with limited knowledge overestimate their competence, making them less likely to accept information from experts. These biases can play a role in the formation and persistence of beliefs like flat-Earthism.

Amazingly, these people refuse to see the 50+ years of evidence about his behavior and yet still support him and think he's the best person since Jesus.00 Reply5.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't know I know a few... smh. Fly in a plane and see the curvature of the Earth.

no proof, a bowl is curved but not round, a valley is curved so esrth could be like the edge of a plate, upside down.
It's just some people are blind to the truth. They will deny it even when it's right in front of them.
