Yikes, why do men fail to realize the older they get the fewer options they have unless they're well off financially?

I see men say women are gonna be old and alone blah blah. Women don't care, that's why they're declining men left and right. The highest statistics I've seen for those who end up in nursing homes and die there are men. Why? Women friend groups, despite the gossip, tend to be more nurturing and care for their friends as they age. Also , neices , aunts, daughters, and sisters are more inclined to care for the women. Men such as uncles, cousins, and nephews tend to ship their loved one father to nursing homes. Have men once again experienced backfire for their behavior?

Women think they have it all in their prime yes, but their optimal dating age is in their 20's and thats because most women tend to prefer an older established man. So the 25 year old girl is going to like the 30 year old guy, I know that from experience since my last relationship was also 5 years younger and I was actually the youngest she had dated and statistically this just proves to be true because men in their early 20's aren't established enough yet.

So if women are looking at older men that means those men have an option, am I going for the 25 year old or am I going for the 35 year old? If we date the 25 year old we can not only enjoy her beauty longer, we can calmly test the waters in a relationship before we have to think about children. If we date the 35 year old women there will be a rush to get children if she wants them because she knows she's past prime fertility.

Who do you pick? Most men would pick the younger girl. And most girls the older guy its simple as that.

Now in reality its obviously way more nuanced where it matters much more about personal compatibility, she'd date younger and he'd date older if they fit will together. You are right that you are not going to be alone if you screw up, but your options are going to be smaller. So while you are picky and reject them left and right, if you are 10 years older you don't have that luxury to be as picky anymore. Because some of the men who you rejected now are either already taken, or are not interested in you.

Oh boy. It's gonna be one of  those  questions again, is it? *sigh* Backfire for what behavior, exactly? Are you implying that men are somehow missing out by not going for low quality women because the tides of time are catching up to them as well? If so, you're wrong eitherway, and to think that men die alone and unhappy most of the time is also false, so I'd beg to ask what "statistics" you're referring to, or is it just some random blog you read online made by a sad and lonely woman who's just salty at men and just needs an outlet to vent her frustration? As a man myself, here's what  really  happens. First of all, unlike most women, most men don't equate their happiness to money. Ask any real man in your life and he'll tell you that most of us men don't want a lavish lifestyle, and we're perfectly content with living in a small two room apartment with nothing but a mattress to sleep on and some snacks, as long as it's a place we can call our own. We as men don't find happiness in monetary things, but rather in the company we keep, and if we have one or two homies who'll always be there with us through thick and thin, we can face anything life throws at us.

Good question, but of course the blue GAG members who are living in their own little alternative reality will try to say, "But, but... women  hit the wall  at 30, and if they aren't married by then will end up living with 20 cats", or something equally ridiculous. What they fail to realise is that most men don't grow old gracefully either, and they don't end up looking like George Clooney or Tom Cruise. The truth is that the vast majority of us will always prefer someone young over someone old, for reasons good and bad, and if men don't have their act together by the age of, say, 40, then what do they actually have to offer someone?

This is nonsensical. I mean honestly, just apply some simple math here.

The gender ratio at birth is about 1 to 1 which means that for every man there is a woman. Ignoring homosexuality for a moment that is. Furthermore, since women live longer than men they are going to be the ones most likely to survive their partners and live alone.

Furthermore, since men die earlier it also means that men have more and more options for new relationships the longer they live. By the age of 60 there is significantly more women alive than men.

While elderly care is a major problem in society that needs to be fixed, this ain't it. Not really sure what gave you that idea in fact.

Your question contains something terribly true: the older one gets, the fewer options one gets, unless being financially well off, and that's probably not only true for men. Don't be mistaken, most older men do realize very well the situation, but still hope...

Being older and not rich myself, I see the truth there: if I don't pay in some way or another, I get no girlfriend. Well, so be it. This will not prevent me from living my life...

Mind that as well older men as older women living single have no problem taking care of themselves, but indeed women may tend to take more care of others than men. Still, here where I live, nursing homes have as many men as women as guests, even a little more women than men I daresay. Statistics seem to show women survive longer than men, but at the cost of losing the capacity of taking care of themselves.

To begin with, 63% of nursing home residents are female, as are 71% of assisted living residents. Does anyone think that they are placed there only by men?

You might say that the options get worse as a man gets older, but if he's dating women his age, he's got more options as he gets older because men do not live as long as women.

Not necessarily. I know several women in their 50s and 60s who have no friends or family and no money. They’ll be working until they die and likely die alone. They’re too old and not attractive anymore so they’ll likely never get married again. This can happen to anybody, regardless of gender. However, I get what you mean in terms of men having less options unless they’re financially stable. Unfortunately, men aren’t respected or loved unless they’re bringing in money. I can’t tell you how many people told me to get a divorce when I was head of household (he makes more than I do now & suddenly everyone is his friend). Without good looks, men have absolutely nothing. Then again, the same goes for women.

I'm 44, still horny sometimes, got problems that I could talk forever about. I know I am not a catch, and I am not good looking. Which is why sometimes I think I should just end my life. It would give stronger people more food and space. It is ridiculous to think that every man can just fix themselves. For some people life is hard. I guess those that struggle are not worthy of love? Lately I have tried to make a couple of friends but so far there have been no takers. But, you know, girls live longer and are more likely to make it to old age, so it is skewed.

I think women have evolved to pretty much learn to depend on their selves and their social group. In my cultures, there’s a huge emphasis that men are providers and lovers and their main goal is to hold the dynamic of a family together. But most women I know today also have a backup plan in case that fails.

At the same time, many women do also prefer older men which allows me some sort of selection in terms of their dating pool. It’s not always about finances.

I knew a 30-something slightly overweight woman who would only date a serious church-going man who was a doctor, lawyer, or in corporate finance. Agree, most men are miserable if they don't fare well financially and, as they age, they may experience a painful death with nobody around to look after them. I take it as motivation to work hard so that, even if I don't find a good woman, I can at least die peacefully. I've given up on women because I've realized I can't please them. I didn't win the genetic lottery, I'm not tall, and I'm losing my body shape. I also don't have a well-paying job. However, I can still fix the last two issues mentioned and die a less painful death. Trust me, most men are aware of this. 100% of women seem to only want the top 20% of men who are born with good genes, are tall, and are either rich by themselves or through inheritance. The remaining 80% of men never had a chance anyway.

It's because that belief is false. A man's options increase w/ age as long as they do the work. The other fallacy is the belief that men want to be surrounded by a bunch of people.
