Do I have a point here?

So I work with a girl who I get on very well with but both her parents have very good jobs and she comes from a nice part of the city and she was privately educated. I come from a home of two parents who didn't go to college and I also went to a community school which was quite rough. My area is beside quite rough areas so I have grown up with rougher kids in school and my father is from a rougher part of the city also. I just feel like there is a difference between me and the girl I work with. I just feel a little more common and I feel like we wouldn't understand certain parts of eachothers lives. Am i right to think this? I told my friend and she said there was no difference between us.

No one can help what family they were brought into, its not like its their choice. Just cause has someone has grown up from a wealthy background, or had private schooling, doesn't mean that they don't understand you, or your experiences.

Don't judge a person on their upbringing, judge them for who they are, and how they treat you.

You never what this girl has been through in her life, just cause had a more privilege up bringing than you. Been brought up in a wealthy family, doesn't makes someones easier.

Just cause a person has grown up in a wealthy family, that they won't encounter the same struggles as you. Wealth does equal all happiness and no struggles. There are more struggle when it comes to brough in wealth. I have seen and heard, so many children make bad choices and ruined their lives, cause their family was rich.

I have grown up, in a wealthy family, I have found I don't get on with people who are wealthy. I can't stand wealthy people , always full of themselves, and full of their own self importance. I get on better with people who are not so wealthy as my family. Sounds hypcritical of me to say that lol, Its just from my experiences.
I am sure the are so good and understanding wealthy people out there. I am always open to giving people chances.

Dead wrong to think like this. If that's how you think you should understand that people are people. If you feel she will be prude and spoiled then it's just you. If she values you as a friend she will treat you as her friend no matter your background.

Yes, wealthy people have been insulated from the grittier aspects of life. I dated somebody like that. Her parents could afford to send her to a nice private college and I went to a crappy commuter college and had to pay the tuition myself. She could not understand what I was going through and how it affected my moods.

Sounds to me like you might be overthinking about problems that will never happen, you should worry about it when it happens, til then enjoy the friendship

You can work together, but have no need to be "equal" as you're not, nor do you need to be.

I don't know, I've worked with all kinds of different people and would get along with them just fine.

I get what you're saying, I just don't think the difference is that big of a deal.
