So my boyfriend planned us to hang out for Valentine's Day. He texted me 6 am saying that he had to distribute food at the food pantry. I said cool. I asked him was we still on for today he said yes... he said he will see me this afternoon. I'm waiting... time pass and I don't get no text. I tried calling he didn't answer. He never showed. He finally text me saying he was tired. So I was upset and I told him how I felt, he blamed it on me saying im ungrateful and than text me Good Night. I told him I understand you were tired but not saying anything... you stood me up. I was dressed, hair done, make up done. While it was getting late I washed my face, put my pajamas on, and cried my self into a nap.

No you’re not in the wrong. That’s a lack of respect. He made plans, never showed up then blamed you. He never communicated either. He mi united your feelings while shifting the blame on you. This wasn’t just some ordinary everyday let’s go to dinner. It was a day of romance. This is about effort as well as accountability.

You are absolutely not wrong. You aren't being ungrateful; you are being disrespected.

He is using his volunteer work as a shield to make you feel like a bad person for having basic expectations. Doing a good deed (food pantry) doesn't give someone a get out of jail free card to treat their partner poorly later.

You did your part by being ready and flexible. He failed to do his part by being honest about his energy levels and respecting your time.
