Is drinking and driving just a game of luck?

As far as not getting caught is concerned? It's not like everyone who goes the bar ubers home. The parking lot would still be full the next morning. I don't even drink and this is one of the reasons why. Don't feel like getting pulled over and thrown in jail. Etc I got accused of being drunk once by the cops just because I got a little over to one side in my lane. He followed me for 100ft probably. I didn't even have a drink and they let me go. It was really just my old truck with it's loose steering and I totally forgot the cop was at the light when I pulled out, so he caught up to me at the next light.

It involves skill as well. Driving drunk without getting caught by the cops takes practice. You have to make sure you do not cross the double yellow line and you have to watch your speed. Do not speed but don't drive too slow either. I got pulled over by the cops for going through a stop sign. It was after a blizzard and the snowbank was so high that I did not see the stop sign. The cop came to my car and i just opened my window a crack and pushed my license and registration out the window so the cop would not smell anything. He went back to his car and fooled around for a while and came back and gave me my license and registration back and just gave me a warning.

@RainbowMarinade I gave up drinking almat 30 years ago. However I did it a lot when I was younger. All my friends did as well. It was a different world and Saturday night it was just assumed that anyone that was out driving especially after 1AM was drunk.
I guess I was lucky I never got lugged for it. There was a restaurant about 40 miles from my house that would serve you a steak dinner and all the beer you could drink. People would get absolutely blitzed and then get in their cars and get on the highway. I look back on this with amazement.

I get that, but people do it everyday. I think lots of people can be above the.08 limit and still be fine.

I don't drink period. Guess it's jist a matter of time for everyone that does it before they get caught
