Any branch of government that has real power is corrupt. Most major corporations are corrupt. Corruption is a way of life here, it's just kept hidden, or attempted to be hidden.

Corruption isn't so bad but the problem here is the party in power thinking that somehow their agenda has a mandate because they won a lesser-of-two-evils election.
