It was ubiquitous, too. Doctor's offices had two chairs taped off between each open chair and insisted on masks, as if they were practicing proven science.
Or they wouldn't allow anyone to wait in their waiting rooms at all. People had to wait in their cars until called on their phones.
They were taking temperatures before they would let you in. These are doctor's offices, for Christ's sake. You would think they never came in contact with sick people before.
Fucking frauds. As "medical experts", they were at the forefront of legitimizing the covid hoax.
I lost all faith in the medical profession.
One kid was allowed per table in school lunch rooms.
Desks in classrooms were set 6' apart.
Kids had to stand 6" apart in lines and forced to wear masks.
Kindergarteners had to sit in squares painted on the floor six feet apart and weren't allowed to interact.
There are endless examples of utter insanity. It was psychological abuse; deliberate trauma.
I think it was an exercise in determining how gullible people were and how easily they could be manipulated into doing absurd things. If people had been told that wearing clown shoes and breathing through snorkles would prevent them from getting covid, some people would have complied without even questioning.
I'm still amazed at the number of people who were convinced that contact with covid was a certain death sentence. They were and still are absolutely terrified of something that is no more dangerous than the flu.
I've worked in healthcare for a while at different levels currently an RN in a hospital previously LPN, CNA, in a nursing home and assisted living so I know that physical distancing, quarantining, and masking have been around as measures for at least a decade of more to prevent the spread of viruses.
Here are some citations from scholarly sources that discuss these measures. I wouldn't say they are not based on science but rather they are based on outdated science and there effectiveness was in question when it came to Covid.

Yeah, I knew from the almost the very beginning that it was all fraud scheme.. And that "social distancing" didn't really mean anything.. They were just seeing how far them could go with the population.. How much they could get away with.. This whole thing was an experiment.. And now that it's all blown away, people like Fauci could tell the truth vaguely under the radar and most mains media outlets won't say anything about it.

I'm not a fan of Dr Fauci, but I don't understand how social distancing could have been a scam. The virus is transmitted by droplets, and maintaining physical distance to keep yourself from coming in contact with those droplets would reduce the amount of virus you're exposed to. That's literally the way you avoid getting sick; reducing your viral load. That's like saying people who are scared of water shouldn't avoid swimming pools because they also get wet in the shower.
I could believe that the specific distance of 6 feet was arbitrary, but physically avoiding close proximity with sick people is how you avoid getting sick.

I never masked and I never stopped greeting and shaking hands with unmasked people. Social distancing seemed like a psy-op to turn people against each other. If you fear someone, they are your enemy.
Fauci is trash, to be sure, and the virus is smaller than masks, gotcha, but you can't tell me that NOT being around other vectors does not have SOME impact on transmission rates. Was it a worthwhile impact? We can argue that, but it DOES do something, because I can't get sick from people who aren't there.

If you took care of yourself, and maintained adequate vitamin levels you wouldn’t even need to worry because your immune system would be strong enough to potentially even prevent illness.
Also, you gain immunity and maintain a stronger immune system by exposing your immune system to foreign pathogens. Not by living in a bubble.

When I was digging into this, I discovered that no one knew where this social distancing thing came from. But then they traced it back to 2006. A high school science class (I think was brainstorming what to do during a pandemic.) They worked in teams, and the team that won, came up with social distancing. LOL
Follow the science. Don't get me wrong, the kids deserve credit for their effort in troubleshooting and brainstorming. But this was never a tested science. Not even Lord Fauci knew where this came from.
But we all remember those lines and steps in grocery stores. And the one-way shopping isles.
But the worst thing I remember, was when schools made the unvaccinated kids eat their lunch outdoors, regardless of the weather.
If they would've handed out the HCQ, none of that insanity would've been needed!
