Why do people complain about prices in a store but yet continue to buy there?

Yesterday, I kept having people complain about how high the prices are yet they still come in and buy stuff. They claim to go in there for one thing yet come to the register cart or basket full of items. A lot of them grab queue impulse items too like candy bars. If they don't like paying the prices set, then why still shop here when there is a grocery store down the road and a walmart less than 10 minutes away?

I think some people are not willing to change their lifestyle when the reality demands they change cause that would mean confronting the fact the vision they have of their lives is not possible, an ego cut for some. Others need the item so buy it if even if it is over priced. I will use myself as an example, I cannot afford to pay for my friends when we go out for lunch but I try to pay just as often as they pay for me, cause it's courtesy to treat your friends like equals and not like providers or bosses. I try to pay of all my debts on time, even if it means I have to sacrifice things. Like I once made a big purchase and then went 3 months without leaving the house to avoid going into debt.

Come on, you know the prices have gone sky high for food and other necessary items it takes to run a house hold.

People have the right to be upset at the prices of things now. If someone wants to buy some candy bars that's fine. They deserve to treat themselves. After all, they're not in jail.
Oh yeah, that's right, they don't put people in jail anymore. Heck, they should just steal the candy bar!

I know there's nothing wrong with it but the point is we aren't the ones setting prices so don't complain that us workers are setting prices

Because prices are high everywhere. Our governors, and the people who kept them in office, set the whole damned economy on fire with the lockdowns and ensuing restrictions, and wonder of wonders, prices rose. Since the required honesty to admit that nearly everyone made such a terrible mistake is beyond most people, they've taken to blaming Trump, or blaming Biden, as befits their political allegiances.

They're also lazy. Going ten minutes down the road is ten minutes they're not willing to spend.

If people don't vote for a third party candidate , we will have more high rates/ prices of food/ we will have a mentally confused old man in office or a mental case who plays with politics as a game of monopoly he likes to play.

Old habits. Let's say they complain about prices. Rather than go to the different store, they can just get different things that are cheaper alternatives, can be used much longer, but rather bland. If you buy cereal, you could exchange it for a large canister of oatmeal that could last a few weeks. Buy powdered milk instead of regular milk. Get plain yogurt vs flavored.

People like to complain about things somehow it makes them feel better. They keep coming back because it's convenient for them and they are to lazy to go to the extra effort.
